Description of 1987 Pontiac Fiero GT

Up for sale is a rare 1987 Pontiac Fiero GT collector car. low miles. all factory original. with 2. 8L V6 engine. and the highly sought after all original Getrag 5 speed manual transmission. No modifications. and accident free. All original panels. Two adult owners. non smokers. This car was never used a daily driver car. but has been treated as a collector car since new by the two owners. For the last 4 years here in Southern California. I have only used it to drive around the neighborhood. and I start it every week in the garage. It has always been garaged stored since brand new. rarely out in the damaging sun. and it shows by how new the interior and exterior looks. As with the previous owner. I bought this as a collector car only. to admire and have in the garage. NO rust whatsoever. When the car was in Colorado (Denver area). it was only driven in the summers. and it was garage stored in the winters. All documentation and maintenance records since brand new. including warranty repairs from the dealer. original window sticker. dealer brochures. service manual. maintenance receipts. and owners manual. This amazing mid-engine 2-seater with a steel space frame with fiberglass panels is like no other. Its sleek radical design is still a show-stopper on the road today. nearly 30 years later. Features 2. 8 liter V6 engine 5 Speed Getrag Manual Transmission Power Windows Power Mirrors Cruise Control Tilt Wheel Factory Stereo Sunroof Mechanical Condition Engine - Starts right up and sounds like new. Idles smooth at correct RPMs. See pic of the instrument panel. Engine is idling in this pic. You can see temperature needle perfect. charging needle perfect. oil pressure perfect. and RPM idle perfect around 900RPMs. Acceleration is smooth and swift. It is a pretty powerful engine. and it is fun to drive. No leaking fluids of any kind. No burning oil. Oil changes done regularly. I had it all checked out by a mechanic during the last oil change and it has a clean bill of health 5 speed GetragTransmission – Wonderful to drive with the 5 speed Getrag. The clutch operates like new. and the transmission shifts smooth and fluid between all gears. No issues. operates like new. Steering – Tight. no pulls. no vibrations. no shaking. The car drives straight as an arrow and the steering is flawless. These cars do not come with power steering. Suspension – Drives great. handles amazing. No noises. no clunks. like new. Charging system – Works great. no issues. A brand new alternator was installed in 2009. Fuel system – Works great. no issues. A new fuel pump and filter was installed in 2009. Tires – All 4 tires excellent. with 90%+ tread left. The rims are aftermarket. installed back in 2010. However. I still have the original Fiero rims. which are included if you want them! Besides the rims. the car is 100% factory original. Battery – New battery installed 4 months ago. Brakes – Excellent condition. No shaking. no pulling. Like new. At least 50% pads left. Belts – All replaced in 2010 and excellent. Exterior panels – No accidents. All body panels have the original VIN GM stickers on them. proving the car is completely original. same as when it was brand new. Guaranteed! No dents or dings. Amazing! Sunroof -- The sunroof works great and is mint. Headlights – The pop-up headlights work great. Pontiac did redesign them in 1987 to solve many issues that plagued the older versions. I did notice the driver side one paused half way up a few times. but always opens fully after a few seconds. They close fine. All exterior lights. brake lights. tail lights. turn signals. marker lights are all working. Exterior paint – Excellent like new and super glossy shiny. The front bumper was repainted years ago to match perfectly. not because of any accident. just because it had some normal wear and tear paint nicks from driving. which is typical on the front end. No dings. no dents. near perfect all over the car. Amazing! Exterior glass – Excellent condition. No cracks or spider veining on the rear side sail window panels (rare)! Tail lights – Mint. no delamination. no cracks. no veins. no delamination. no separation on the lenses (rare)! This is the benefit of keeping the car out of the sun. Interior The interior is in excellent condition as you can see. very well taken care of. adult owned. non smokers. never abused. Driver Seat – Excellent like new. no signs of wear (rare)! This is due to getting in and out carefully and not rubbing against the seat. Plus this car was never a daily driver car. Passenger seat – Mint. like new. no signs of wear. Carpet and upholstery – Mint like new Door panels – Mint like new AC/heater vents – Mint a like new Center console arm rest and storage bin – Excellent. There is a tiny half inch clear/white sticker residue. I think it was from a cell phone attached with velcro at one time. I never tried to remove it because I didn’t want to damage or discolor the vinyl. It is barely noticeable; I can try to remove it. Panels and center bezels – Excellent condition. On the center console trim piece. there is one tiny half inch crack in the corner where it screws in. This is barely even noticeable. Power windows – Works great. no issues. Power mirrors – Work great. no issues. Cruise control – Works great. no issues. Courtesy lights – Work great. no issues. Instrument panel lights – Work great. no issues. Tachometer – Works great. no issues. Speedometer - Works great. no issues. Windshield wipers – work great no issues. Oil pressure gauge – works fine. The needle does wobble back and forth at times like its having a seizure. and it’s been taken to GM several times while it was under warranty years ago. Apparently it is common and typical of Fieros to have this. but no recall was issued for it and there was no update to that part. It has no effect on the vehicle’s operations. the gauge works fine. All other gauges and lights – work great 4 way hazards/flashers – works great. no issues Tilt Wheel – Works great. no issues. Power trunk release button – Works great. no issues. Gas cap release – Works great. no issues. Parking brake – works great. no issues. Stereo – Factory original Pontiac Fiero AC Delco. AM/FM Cassette. This is the factory upgraded stereo. with soft touch digital buttons. even for the volume. No mechanical knobs. Bright red display and LED lights. and all buttons and lights function like new. The cassette deck works great. Even the speakers are Pontiac original. and are also perfect like new. Separate bass and treble controls. with the loudness bass boost button. It sounds amazing!! Carpet and upholstery – mint like new Floor mats – Original Pontiac Fiero floor mats. near mint! Air conditioning - Does NOT blow cold air. It will need to be recharged and/or serviced. It was converted to R-134 refrigerant in 2009. It used to blow super cold. so I assume it just needs a recharge. Heater - The heater works great. and the fan/blower works great. All of the climate control functions and lights work perfectly. Trunk - The car comes with original Fiero donut spare tire. something that usually gets lost or replaced with an aftermarket full size spare over time. Records You get all records since brand new. including: - original dealer window sticker - original warranty cards - warranty repair receipts - maintenance receipts - original owners manual. You also get the original GM leather key chain and keys. This is the original Pontiac key chain from 1987. stamped GM and etched with “100% top grain leather” on the back. which you can’t get anymore. It is NOT the fake replica that you see on ebay. It was purchased since day one as a collector car. with the intention of driving it only on sunny days. no winter driving. The first owner was so anal and very nit-picky. You can see several years of factory warranty receipts from the early years. from very small stuff like window trim and other things. including the oil pressure needle. He kept the car in top notch brand new shape. I had intended to keep it at least another 20 years as a collector car. but things change and now it is time to sell.
