The car was from Georgia and had been sitting for years. I was told it was a one owner car andlater verified it with Georgia DMV records. The body was rough in spots but restorable. All numbers were matching and the only thing missing was the original numbers matching quadrajet carburetor. I contacted Florida Pontiac who was a well known Pontiac specialist. He verified the car, the numbers matching components and it's authenticity for me. I also sent out and received all of the PHS documentation. Florida Pontiac then gave me a restoration estimate and I sent the car to him. He was excited about the car and how rare it was. I guess there were very few in Liberty Blue produced. I paid $15000 for the car and sent it to him. His estimate was $42500 plus I buy the carburetor to complete the car soup to nuts with a perfect rotisserie restoration. His words were "Car will be 100 percent factory correct and show room brand new." You can see the handwrittenestimatehe provided in one of my pictures. The car wasdisassembledand Florida Pontiac started the restoration. Lots of time went by and I kept getting partial bills to the tune of $35000. But the restoration was slow and never completed. The frame was powder coated. A bunch of body work was performed. Most of the engine work was done etc etc All engine Machine work has been done--looks as it is bored 40 overcorrect original Ram Air IV heads are refinishedBlock refinished numbers on it 0814328 WWvin number original on block and very legible carburetor correct and refinished --definitely not restamped correct distributor--numbers 111941 9B20 correct original transmission with vin number clearly legible frame and many components refinished and powder coated correct intake manifold Whileall of this was going on I was hunting for a matching numbers carb. I was told it may be impossible to find. I searched Ebay and google every week for years. Finally I found one. Perfect matching numbers and rebuilt. I had to give a fortune for it-- $5000-- but it completed the numbers matching for the car so I purchased it. Shortly after the restoration buying the carburetortherestoration shop went belly up andhe was evicted from his workplace. I was called to pick up the car and I got it back in pieces. The car needs completed but it is rare and should be a great project for someone. I have a lot of pictures that I would like to send to anyone that is interested-- so please message me with your email or phone number. I amsetting up a dropbox account to send all of the photos to interested parties at once. Please message with any questions or call area code 561. Florida 309-4461 also note to everyone Irelistedthis car due to the header reading Judge and to describe the car better with more detail and better pictures-- the responses I received in the first 30 hours were overwhelming--and thanks to the guys who helped educate me and tell me what to show prospective buyers--This car is 100 percent legitimate and numbers matching--see pictures--I had a lot of people requesting a buy it now price and for me to cancel the auction early but I choose to auction the car off--I have way too much in it currently which is no ones fault but my own and I decided to cut my loss now--IT WILL SELL TO THE HIGHEST BIDDER!!! Please only bid if you are serious in paying for it and picking itup and packaging the parts with me--I want the car to go to someone who will enjoy it or make money with it--It's time for her to get back to her original glory!!! GOOD LUCK!! PS I also have a 1969 Firebird that came out of the same situation wFlorida Pontiac that I will be listingand selling soon The car is back together and ready for paint--I do not have a numbers matching history on it or story like this one but it is a 400-- 4 speed 69 Firebird--same story--going away to highest bidder |
