Description of 1994 Pontiac Firebird 25th Anniversary |
SUMMARY · 31,265 actual miles, 1-owner survivor · Build number 606 of 2000 Trans Am 25th Anniversary produced · 5.7 liter LT1 V8 / 275 horsepower · 4L60E 4-speed automatic transmission · 25 MPG Highway · Trans Am GT / T-Tops / 25th Anniversary Edition / Leather interior I bought this car new on May 14th, 1994 and I'm still in love with it. I'm selling it because I no longer have the desire to store and maintain a car that isn't driven. This is a 25th Anniversary limited edition Trans Am, build number 606 out of 2000 that Pontiac made. The LT1 V8 in this car was a great improvement over the previous generation Trans Am. It has great torque and acceleration. Compared to a 2002 Firehawk I owned with a 345HP LS1, the LT1 seems to get up to speed quicker. So, while it isn’t faster, it is certainly entertaining. If you’re looking for a muscle car from the last generation of Pontiacs that still looks, feels and drives like it just rolled off of the showroom floor, this is it! CONDITION The car is virtually flawless. It has been stored inside a garage from the day I brought it home. It has never been in an accident and has had only two dealership repairs. One day on the freeway, a rock from a car in front of me went airborne and bounced off the hood and windshield. The hood was repaired and windshield replaced. A few years ago, the OptiSpark failed and was replaced. In the process, the coolant level sensor reads inaccurately even though there is plenty of fluid. This is a known issue with the 4th Gen F-Body cars. ENGINE 1994 is the second year of the 4th Generation of the Trans Am and came with the 5.7L LT1 V8. It’s completely stock with no aftermarket go-fast parts or other embellishments. Under the hood, everything is as spotless as on the outside. Many LT1's you see today have corrosion on the aluminum intake plenum but not this one. Every time I wash the car, I also detail under the hood and polish the aluminum parts once a year or so. Oil changes are done once a year but since the car isn’t driven much, it comes out clear. DRIVETRAIN / SUSPENSION This is an automatic transmission car with an electronic "performance" switch. When set, the shift points are completely different and lets the LT1 rev much higher between gears. With the switch set to performance, it's possible to get a bark from the tires when shifting into second gear. It really puts you back in the seat! It has a limited slip differential. When I first bought the car, I had the differential fluid changed at 800 miles. Most people didn't realize these cars came from the factory with a break-in diff fluid. Since then, both the transmission and differential fluids have been changed under regular maintenance. INTERIOR Being a Trans Am GT to begin with, the car has a lot of amenities. As a 25th Anniversary edition, the seating and door panels are done in white leather. It's difficult to keep it clean but the interior is spotless with one exception. The rear passenger side seat has a tiny smudge I can't seem to get rid of. It’s hardly noticeable As for convenience features, it has: power windows, power door locks, power mirrors, remote keyless entry, cruise control and factory air conditioning. All these items are in perfect working order. It has an AM/FM/CD radio. The CD is not working and I have never diagnosed the issue so cannot say what it would take to fix it. The steering wheel volume up/down controls are not working but all other controls are. DOCUMENTATION · Original Owner’s Manual and booklets · A Trans Am 25th Anniversary Owner’s Manual pouch and branded accessories · Original window sticker · Letter from Pontiac authenticating the limited edition build number · 25th Anniversary production information (coups, convertibles, option combinations) · Two sets of keys and corresponding fobs · Original Trans Am “Blast from the Past” sales brochure and complete press kit · Factory documents (vehicle manifest) · Carfax report from May 2017 The car is extremely fun to drive and still turns heads when heading down the road. I've taken it to quite a few car shows including the Trans Am Nationals in Dayton OH. This is the premier show for enthusiasts and its very competitive and difficult to win. My car won first place in 2004. It has won trophies in several local shows as well. |
