Description of 1988 Pontiac Trans Am Trans Am Firebird GTA |
1988 Pontiac Trans Am Firebird GTA Automatic transmission, V8, 5.7ltr engine with 99,900 miles on it, stock performance suspension. Vehicle is non-molested, never owned by a teenager. Has new battery, A/C motor makes a noise (but works, not great in AZ summer), radio is locked because prior owner cut the wires due to motor broke and kept running which drained the battery. Seat belt buckle plastic is broken (driver/passenger side), center console rubber is separating on driver side, passenger window has light scratches, turn signal knob plastic is broke, rear wing clear coat is cracking, rear wing is cracked, rear dome light is burnt out, It may have a shift kit, but previous owner didn't say there was one (shifts hard), catalytic converter has been hollowed out, engine puffs smoke on first start up and in cold weather, it runs rough until it warms up. Nothing but 91 octane has been ran through it since I have owned it. I am the third owner. Has engine check light on (but the shop told me it's because the ECU is bad and throwing the code) - car runs pretty good. when car gets hot (like in Havasu extreme heat conditions). Newer tires only 2500 miles on them. due for a good tune-up. The rest of the car is bone stock. Needs new struts all around. Headlight pop up motors are weak and sometimes pop up, or only one light will pop up or get stuck when closing. Back hatch lid lift support shocks are weak and won't hold it up. Hood pop latch doesn't always release fully. Cassette adapter for phone jack is in cassette player. It is from a smoke free home, as far as I know from the previous owner too.
