Description of 1971 Pontiac Trans Am |
Let me start by saying this is a clone. I have had this car Since 1987. It originally was an esprit 350 auto. I rebuilt a 400 in 1994 and put on; 1969 gto ram air 3 heads, I put an .068 lift cam in it, 900cfm edelbrock rochester quadrajet with bigger jets in the front and back along with smaller rods in the front and back, I built the motor back in 1995, sorry I don’t know how many miles I have put on it but it runs like the day I built it. The car was in a movie called (Full Count) 11 years ago, the nose had cracks in the paint and I wanted it to look good for the movie, soI took it to several paint shops and they all told me they could not fix the paint, because the cracks would just come back in a month, so I redid the paint on the nose my self using dupont chromaclear urethane paint. I put 10 coats of clear coat and then 3 coats of black then another 6 coats of clear (the more coats of clear the more flexible the paint is) and it has not cracked in the 11yearssince I did it. The rest of the paint was done in 1996 so it is pretty old. I have a factory working ratchet shifter. Aluminized H pipe exhaust. It has power windows and power locks. All gauges work great. That is the original speed odometer. The air conditioning blows cold. I have an after marked steering wheel on it, but I have the original bandit steering wheel that I got back in 1988 and it is in perfect shape I just took it off so that it would not get ruined. Last year I put a new 1 & ½ turn (stop to stop) steering box in it. I just replaced the proportion valve, pass. Rear caliper, and rear rubber line. the dash is perfect no cracks. In between 1987 and 1996 I replaced several things here is a list of what I did: Put stabilizer bars from a 1977 bandit trans am front and rear Same car is where I got the dash, dash plate, steering wheel, steering wheel gold bird, shifter gold bird Replaced both rear quarters The left front fender and door is from a 1980 trans am The right front fender is from a 1977 trans am The right door is from a 1979 trans am Hood is from a 1976 trans am Hood scoop and air cleaner from a 1974 trans am The disc rear end is from a 1979 bandit trans am Urethane bushing through out the front end New door panel gold bird New carpet Had seats and door panels redone Head liner is from a 1977 trans am Tail lights and rear bumper are from a 1973 firebird Rear spoiler is from a 1978 trans am Ball joints replaced New springs on the rear Put in 323 gears in the rear end Rebuilt 350 turbo trans. New springs on the front Wheels off a 1979 trans am Now for the things that it is going to need: I have a new heater core for it but it needs to be installed The door seals all need to be replaced My body work is showing through, expected for being 21years old (cracks) Front seal on the trans leaks Pinyon seal leaks chips in the paint ebay will not let me put in the mileage it is 146,548. please have funds available before bidding, cash only. Any questions email me and I will get back to you. |
