Description of 1970 Pontiac GTO

1970 GTO convertible, original Black with red interior. 400 v8, 400 automatic, Beautiful car, no rust or prior body damage that I am aware of. Car has 139,490 miles. Prior owner was a car collector who restored the car and had it for over 25 years. This is not a show car but a very original very solid car that looks beautiful and you can drive anywhere. I cannot take this car out without having people stop and stare or give a thumbs up. Literally, every time I have the car out I get positive comments from guys and gals. This is a very sound and reliable vehicle, when I picked up the car, I drove it home 500 miles and it ran perfect and it still does.
Engine/ Transmission/ suspension – Prior owner told me that he rebuilt the engine, and transmission and suspension at 129,000 miles. There is a receipt for engine parts. Transmission feels solid and shifts well. Suspension looks and feels like new. The car has new BF Goodrich tires. Regarding the engine, when the prior owner rebuilt it, he believed that the block was cracked, so he found a date matching block and used that for the rebuild. He gave me the original block with the correct vin. The engine is factory correct, with what appears to be the original quadrajet carb, intake and exhaust manifolds, etc.
Paint/ Top/ Interior – The prior owner repainted the car the original black and it still looks great, with the exception of the nose, which has some hairline cracks, but still presentable. The Air Conditioning system is complete and original, but is not working. The top looks like new and power mechanism works great. The interior is in surprisingly good condition for a car with 139,000 miles, but it is aged. If you like that original aged patina, then its fine and very usable.
This is really a very special car, that has been cared for and show be owned by a Pontiac enthusiast. I have a book of documentation including two build sheets that the prior owner provided.
