Description of 1959 Pontiac Bonneville Sport Coupe |
1959 Pontiac Bonneville Sports Coupe Rate and Solid Western Oregon/ California car Let's start with photos. Here are over 80 of them: Taggesell Pontiac of Salem, Oregon issued the Warranty to Raymond and Martha Hecht of Aumsville, Oregon on 9/25/59. The car remained registered in their names through 1980. Shoreline Gold with tri-tone Pink Beige-Copper-Mahogany Morrokide interior. Customary equipment including power steering and brakes, working AM radio, tinted glass, 389 V-8 with Hydra-Matic. Solid Western car lived most of its life in Oregon, spent the last few years in California. Frame and floors are basically solid, there is some perforation in the trunk floor (patch parts available) and the passenger side lower front fender. There's a little bit of rust in the rear seat foot wells, new replacement parts are included as well. Great running and driving example with a rebuilt engine and a nicely shifting Hydra-Matic. Brand new exhaust system. Radio works, as do all of the gauges except the clock. I'm a sucker for COLD lights, and this one works. It's on a set of American Classic radials with excellent tread, and they ride and handle very nicely. Mileage shows 13,369, we presume it's been around once. Cosmetic patina which represents either a restoration project for some or an authentic weathered look for others. The car gets tons of attention and compliments as-is. The Code P Shoreline Gold paint appears to be original, as does the interior, The seats and headliner are intact and usable, and the carpet has been replaced. Door panels are rough- see photos. Original tinted glass is in very nice condition. Stainless trim is quite nice but die cast has pitting. Overall, It's actually quite presentable. . We were planning a full restoration, so we ordered new everything for the interior from SMS. Headlining, carpet, seat material, seat piping -along with new door panels and rear side panels (You'll note the originals are a smidge rough.) Most of the materials are here- the door panels take forever so we're still in line- but once reserve is met, all will go with the car. The buyer will get a huge head start on the door panels- we ordered them in January of 2016. They'll actually be coming up in the next couple of months, the SMS folks say. It's certainly not easy to find an intact and highly unmodified 1959 Bonneville Sport Coupe these days and if you want one, I invite you to carefully consider this one. We have attempted to describe it as accurately as possible but you are welcome to inspect the car yourself or have it inspected, we will do our best to accommodate but ask for 48 hours notice. We can also assist in arranging reliable port delivery. (Hello, Sweden!) We have placed a reasonable reserve that is less than our investment and the car is seriously for sale. Please do not bid if you are not able to complete the purchase. We will require a $1000 deposit within 48 hours of auction close and full payment within seven days. Cash and Bank Wire preferred, cashier's checks will require clearance before the car can be released. Wire transfer only for International buyers, please.
