Call… 706-831-1899 Up for auction is a 1970 Pontiac Firebird Ram AIR 455 HO and a 4-speed. This is a drop dead knockout restoration and the car runs and drives excellent. The paint was completed in the spring of last year and the car has 1538 miles. The 455 engine is not the original motor for this car as the 455 HO was not offered in the Firebird until 1971. The engine is however. a professional built true 455 HO with Ram Air 6xx D-Port heads. This motor was built with performance. durability and reliability in mind. The motor pulls very strong and it is a blast to drive. Some of the internal features of this pro-built motor are Flat Top pistons. Roller Rockers. and a 501 lift Comp Cam that really has a nice sounding lope as you can hear in the YouTube video below. Up top the motor is fitted with an Edelbrock Pontiac Performer intake with an Edelbrock Q-Jet 750cfm carburetor. It also has a March serpentine belt system with Billet pulleys and brackets including a polished AC compressor and alternator. Cooling comes from a Griffin Pro Series aluminum radiator with a chrome recovery tank and dual electric fans. The engine is painted to match the car color and it has a chrome radiator cover and the fender wells are painted gloss black. The breather is an original Ram Air breather which was sent off and chromed. It has a MSD Pro Billet distributor with new EZ wiring harness and all new wiring. It has Hooker headers as well. The Transmission is a Super T-10 with a 10-Bolt. positive traction rear end with 3. 73 Richmond Gears. The stance looks pretty awesome on this Yellow Bird with 2” drop spindles up front and 4-wheel power disc brakes. The wheels are American Racing Torq-Thrust II’s…18’s and 17’s. The rear tires are 235/50ZR18’s and the fronts are 215/50ZR17’s. The underside has been completely restored and upgraded also. The upper and lower control arms were sandblasted and painted high gloss as well as all of the supporting parts. sway bars. and etc. it has new coil over shocks. new tie rods and ends. new sway bar bushings as well as all of the bushings. It’s all either upgraded or restored. The paint is as slick as glass and a super straight body. The paint is absolutely a knockout. It is 3 coats of Chrome Yellow over Yellow primer and 4 coats of clear and then sanded and buffed back to a stunning mirror finish. The hood is a true 1970 Ram Air hood. The only flaw on the paint is a small bump on the very tip of the rubber front bumper nose. It did crack the paint. This actually happened coming off of the rollback coming back from the paint shop! Go figure. It would be an easy 200 dollar fix but I don’t want to wait to sell the car and it’s not really that noticeable. It has all new lights. lens covers. and bezels and all of the lights and the turn signals do work. The interior was restored basically with stock looking interior with an upgraded Trans Am dash with all Sport Comp Auto Meter gauges. It also has a Trans Am steering wheel with a tilt column. It has a Hurst shifter with console and bucket seats. It has a Jenson AM/FM CD player. The interior is nice and the door jams are slick also. This is a real good car and the previous owner spent $65. 00 on the car.
