1951 Pontiac Chieftain Eight Deluxe - 4 door Sedan - Straight 8 engine 268 Ci - Hydromatic This gem was sitting in garage for 30 years, awesome condition for its age. Very very little rust, only where you see the anti-rust primer and most of that is just surface rust. From what I can tell it has every option that was available in the Chieftain in 1951. I put a battery in it and everything appears to work (gauges, radio comes on, all lights work), it turns over and starts, I haven't attempted to drive it, for 2 reasons, the freeze plugs were removed at some point and I only started it on a bottle of fuel gravity fed into the carb. It's amazing that it fired up after sitting that, of course it will need to be gone through. The body does not appear to have any dents or body work done to it, there is a tiny bit of rust through on a rear kick panel as shown in the pictures and a bit on the bottom of 2 fender wells also shown. The interior is rough but appears all original also, the trunk looks good and floors appear to have minimal rust, but I dont have a lift to inspect closely. The windows are all in good condition and appear original. All of the chrome is present and in good condition with only the slightest pitting. Even the original hub cabs are intact, the tires hold air and are in okay condition. The engine bay appears all original with the only part being missing is the oil filler tube and cap, it appears that the original spark plug wires are even there. This car still has its original 6 volt charging system, only the battery has been replaced with a new Exide 6 volt. Brakes seem to work okay but will need to be gone through as the pedal feels soft until pumped up, emergency brake works perfect. What you see is what you get with this amazing time capsule, I can not find the title at this point but will include a signed bill of sale. I will store this vehicle AFTER PAYMENT is made for up to 30 days after purchase.
