The GOOD:The car does run and drive. Goes down smooth roads well at speed. Rough ride on poorly maintained streets, but it is on 13" tires. Underneath has been updated to having new brake line, brake hoses, rotors, calipers, and pads. It has a new front header pipe and muffler as well. The tires are recent and has a good battery. 3 speed clutch type auto transmission shifts great. The original hood had rusted through and was replaced with an '86 Chevette hood (dark blue). Hatchback has a new gas strut and opens great. Radio works and has bass/treble dial behind volume knob. The speaker area has typical cracks, but rest of dash is nice. Cloth bucket seats are in great shape and the back seating looks like nobody ever sat back there. Has a spare tire underneath the cargo area and has the original bumper-jack. Floors are good and the rocker area is in solid shape. Difficult to start when cold (takes 5+ pumps of gas pedal), but is turnkey when the engine is warm. Heater and defrost controls are working. Headliner is intact and is up and the courteous dome light works. Cigar lighter works. Has all 4 hubcaps and wheel trim rings Has been a car to drive on summer weekends only.
The NOT AS GOOD:The bottoms of all 4 doors are quite rusty and will need TLC. Of course, the whole body will have to be repainted (or some people like the patina). Gaskets like the oil pan gasket and valve cover gaskets will need to be changed. The valve cover leak drips oil onto the header pipe and does smoke a little. It leaks oil all over itself, but not on the ground that I'm aware of. There is an exhaust leak just before the muffler that will need to be sealed up too. The windshield has a small nick (the size of your pinky fingernail in width) that is outside of the wiping area by the blades. Horn works but is currently disconnected, as it inadvertently goes off when turning the steering wheel. Passengers side door trim is MIA.
