Description of 1979 Pontiac Trans Am WS6 |
This listing is for my 1979 Trans Am.For starters I bought this car 10 years ago and it's been in my garage ever since. Someone painted the car red and then white, why I do not know. When I bought it the owner thought the car was red and was upset someone painted it white. I discovered by the trim tag it was solar gold/tan cloth but he never checked this. I am an option addict, and I have never come across a 79 Trans Am that is more loaded than what this one is. The car is a matching numbers drivetrain engine transmission rear end. It has all original panels except for the nose. The stickers are still in the doors with the VIN numbers. The car was built in California. I made a decision when I first bought the car to replace the 1979 front end with a 1972 Trans Am nose on to the 79 WS6 car. Hence the look of the 72 with all the options and performances features of the 79. The car has a GM Hood in great shape the scoop is from a 1975 Trans Am and a near-perfect including the drip nipple. The fenders where purchased 10 years ago and are rust free new. I put a NEW 1980 pace car interior into the car ($1,000) for seat covers and door skins . It is all there except for the carpets. The white material is clean and strikingly beautiful. My intentions were to paint the outside of the car blue with gold trim work and Phoenix. With the interior being white. The nice thing about the pace car interior was that the birds are embroidered into the fabric and are not just plastic emblems. The seats are in the car but the rest of the Interior is in boxes. The console has a his and hers Hurst dual gate shifter correct for the Trans Am with console. The speedometer tachometer has been upgraded to the 160mph and 8000 RPM tach. The heater/ac controls are also from a 1972 car. Options include:Power steering, 4 wheel power disc brakes, air conditioning ( I do not have the compressor), tinted glass, rear window defogger, Deluxe oyster seatbelts, power windows, power locks, power trunk release, tilt wheel, cruise control, delay wipers, auxiliary lighting, AM FM CB with power antenna, T-top, Factory drip rail moldings on the T-tops, door Edge guards, 15 x 8 Snowflake Wheels. To name a few. The 403 and runs strong and super clean inside as you will see from the enclosed photos. The car is virtually rust free the floors are completely solid and so is the trunk. There is some minor Rust along the edges of the bottoms of the doors but the overall condition of the car is extremely solid. There is way too much to list here so if you have any questions please email me. I did remove the trim tag some years ago when I removed the front end. I have it, I just have to locate it. However the car is in the Pontiac registry according to the VIN number and is authentic. This is not a limited edition solar gold car. But it is solar gold over tan cloth according to the numbers and will not take much to bring back to that particular color scheme if so desired. The car needs to be completed and needs paint I have most of the detailed items for the completion. It does need weatherstrip replaced. Please,,, do not lowball me, I will not just to give the car away I do not have to sell it. This is a nice solid Trans Am. And with some effort is worth a whole lot of money! I am disabled and cannot work on the car any longer. I have clear title in my name in hand. Thank you for looking at my listing have a nice day. Sold AS IS WHERE IS No warranty. The car is not perfect but is a diamond in the rough. I will be adding more photos shortly. Payment is to be made in cash. I will not accept checks. Deposit is due through PayPal at end of auction and is non-refundable. Please ask all questions prior to purchase. You may see the car prior to purchase as well. |
