Description of 1965 Pontiac GTO |
New Page 1 BEING RELISTED BECAUSE THE PREVIOUS HIGH BIDDER WAS UNABLE TO OBTAIN FUNDS. PLEASE WORK THIS OUT BEFORE BIDDING!!! BE SURE TO SCROLL DOWN FOR LARGE QUALITY PHOTOS AND WALK AROUND VIDEO AFTER READING THE FULL DESCRIPTION 1965 GTO Convertible Rust Free Southern California Black Plate Car
Pro touring style with complete ‘Ride Tech’ suspension and custom Budnik wheels This car is not a trailer queen, and has been enjoyed by my family and I for the past 5 years. We have driven the car on the Hot Rod Power Tour (multiple states), to Cruisin the Coast (Mississippi Gulf Coast), and many other places. We never hesitated to fill the trunk, get in, turn the key, and hit the road for days on end. We have never had the first problem other than a tire. Sitting in hours of traffic in 95 degree weather doesn’t phase this machine. In 1965 Pontiac offered the GTO option package for the second year. This Lemans is not an original GTO. If not for researching the numbers, you would never know it. The GTO components were later added by a previous owner when the car was brought out of a 23 year indoor storage and received new Tyrol Blue paint, upholstery, top, suspension, wheels, and tires. She still wears her original California black plates where the car resided from 1965 until 2013 when I addedthis carto my collection in Tennessee. It has been lovingly enjoyed since. We have put about 7,000 trouble free miles on it. Still wearing all original metal with no rust ever. The Floors don’t even have a bubble. The underside is in nice restored driver condition, and could easily be cleaned up to be show quality. It just needs a couple hours of cleaning road grime off. 70,700 miles on the car The engine is believed to be a 1970 Pontiac 400 Reliable 400 Turbo automatic transmission Factory A/C, power steering, and power top Every single light inside and out and all gauges work. All 4 original T3 headlamps are still in place. The only thing not working is the original AM radio. The a/c needs a charge, but works fine. We’d rather have the top down so didn’t worry about it. The air ride controls are hidden in the console for easy access. The power top functions better than new. You can put the top up or down in less than 15 seconds without leaving the driver’s seat. All suspension has been upgraded with a full RideTech 4 way air ride system. Strong Arm tubular control arms front and rear with Shock Waves up front. Bags with separate shocks in the rear. Extra-large 1 3/8” sway bars. This car handles like a race car on rails. This suspension system costs around $8k. This machine comes to a quick halt thanks to the power 4-wheel disc brakes. Slotted and drilled rotors (13” front/ 11” rear). The wheels are custom Budnik 18’s and 20’s on 225/40ZR18’s and 255/35ZR20’s. The tires have 80-90% tread remaining. There is no tire rub at ride height. All of the pictures were taken at ride height other than 1 showing max lift and 1 showing the lowest it will sit. The pics were taken 6/17/18. This is an above average driver and will bring excitement and thumbs up to your life. The car has won trophies at local shows, but I mostly just go to cruise ins. Feel free to ask any questions, come see the car, or send an inspector prior to bidding. All bids are binding and there is no warranty. I will assist any way I can with loading the car with you or your shipper. I will also meet you at a local airport so you can drive it home with the wind in your hair. I will be retaining the California plates for my collection. Thanks and good luck.

I am not an expert, and listed the information based on what I thought I knew. This does not affect the value of this car since it is not being offered as an all original restored car. The reserve and BUY IT NOW have been lowered. Feel free to ask any questions. |
