Description of 1968 Pontiac GTO Hardtop |
This GTO is a pristine example of why it was voted Motor Trends car of the year. This 1968 GTO is presented in an eye catching and rare Aegena Blue Metallic exterior with a beautiful Teal Blue interior. The styling of the GTO is very sleek and this color scheme serves to accentuate this GTO’s great looks. This PHS documented GTO is numbers matching and date code correct. This vehicle has completed an extensive and thorough nut and bolt concours level "frame off" restoration to the highest standards. This GTO is a multiple award winner, to include a National Concours Points Judged event in 2013 by the Pontiac Oakland Club International (POCI), Receiving a “Gold” after scoring an impressive 382 points out of a possible 400. Considerable documentation comes with the vehicle, including the build sheet and of course full documentation from the Pontiac Historical Society. This car was assembled in Pontiac Michigan the 4th week of June, 1968 and sold new from Sam Swope Pontiac of Louisville Kentucky. It still retains its original powertrain to include it’s "WT" coded 350 horespower 400 cubic inch engine and 4 barrel Quadra jet carburetor. Options on this GTO include - Exterior Color of Aegena Blue metallic (E), Teal Interior (219), 4 Speed Muncie Transmission (M21), Power Drum Brakes, Hide A Way Headlights, Custom Sport “simulated wood” Steering Wheel, Custom Floor shift Knob (wood), AM pushbutton radio, 3:55 rear differential(WH),Rally II Wheels and 14" Wide Oval Whitewall tires. This 1968 Pontiac GTO would be a great addition to any serious collection. The combination of numbers matching, 4 speed transmission, beautiful rare color combination, full documentation coupled with its outstanding condition makes this a very desirable GTO indeed. Motivated to sell, I have 75k plus in this car. Want to get a driver. This car is not the normal crap you see on line stating it has been restored - this car has been judged for correctness from GTOAA and the Pontiac Oakland club - this car is as good as it gets.
