Greetings Bidders ! You are bidding to own an authentic. running. driving street and race legal 1964 GTO ! I am listing this car for a friend and fellow car club member. I have personally seen this car run several times at the track. I also know the seller very well. and he is a very fair and honest person. The car will be available during the auction for viewing and I highly recommend that you or your agent come and see the car prior to bidding. The car is secured inside a locked enclosed car trailer. so an appointment will be needed for viewing. It is currently licensed for the street although it is on a "Non-Op" certificate at this time. Since California does not currently require emissions or safety testing on 1975 and older vehicles. all that is needed to register the car is the title. proof of liability insurance (maybe) and your checkbook. CAR DETAILS (Real) 1964 Pontiac GTO: 2 door Post car. Car was frame off complete restoration in 2000. Never wrecked. Found no bondo in body. Original California car. Car was driven on the street and shown till 2008. Car is now in full legal NHRA race trim with additions as listed below. Original front bumper and factory hood were replaced with fiberglass in 2011. but are included. Fiberglass hood is currently on car. but there are pictures showing the stock hood which is in very good condition. Front steel bumper is also included and has very nice chrome. Engine: JUST COMPLETELY REBUILT PONTIAC 455>462Ci. 1970 4 bolt block. Internally balanced and blueprinted . BME aluminum rods - just re-sized. Ross aluminum flat top pistons; Windage tray; crank scraper; HD oil pump; fluid damper balancer. Engine was run and broken in on an engine stand prior to final installation. Heads: Edelbrock aluminum. professionally ported. 2. 50 intake. 1. 75 exhaust. Matched chambers. Set up to run on 91 octane pump gas. Intake and carb: Edelbrock Victor - port matched. Quickfuel 900 cfm 4150 style carb & spacer. Exhaust: Super Comp Headers reworked for Edelbrock heads. Street 3” exhaust system with Flowmaster 70 Series mufflers currently on car. Exhaust currently on the car has been shortened to end after mufflers. but 3” tailpipes are included that continue the exhaust over the axle to exit at the rear. Also included are low restriction race mufflers for drag strip use for tracks requiring sound control. Additional: Electric water pump. MSD ignition with detent box under dash; exterior fuel pressure gauge; engine restraint chain to frame; electric fan with thermostat and dash switch. new aluminum radiator. Drive Train: 400 trans. full race built; reverse pattern manual valve body with trans brake; 4" aluminum drive shaft; and 12 Bolt GM rear w/new Eaton Posi unit. Suspension: Front - Global tubular A-arms. F&R-new springs and shocks rated per axle weight and rebound. Rear - Global tubular upper and lower. Upper has Dick Miller extenders. Car pulls front about 2" off the ground on launch and leaves straight. Only two outings on slicks. Video available. Car has fully welded 6-point cage. Recaro front seats (just redone). 4 wheel disc brakes with emergency brake. Centerline Convo wheels 15X5" front. 15X10" rear. 12 gal fuel cell and battery in trunk - with aluminum divider between trunk and rear seat. Electric fuel pump. canister fuel filter. 1/2" fuel line. and bypass regulator. NHRA legal and California Street legal. This car runs the quarter in the mid 10 second range.
