Description of 1970 Pontiac Grand Prix Type J |
ONE OF ONLY 100 BUILT IN 1970 WITH AIR CONDITIONING AND 4-SPEED TRANSMISSION. WOW!!!! TALK ABOUT RARE!!! NOTE THAT THIS GRAND PRIX IS LISTED LOCALLY AS WELL AS CROSS-POSTED ON VARIOUS INTERNET SITES. WE RESERVE THE RIGHT TO END THIS LISTING AT ANY TIME, FOR ANY REASON. This is an original 4-speed 1970 Grand Prix that was atoll blue from the factory and has the remnants of the factory black leather interior in need of complete restoration. The body has a considerable amount of rust, as it resided in Virginia for most of its' life. There is rust in both quarters, both fenders, both doors, the trunklid and the hood. However, the frame appears to be OK. The engine ran well when we parked it, but the fuel is about seven years old, so we need to pump the old fuel out and put some fresh stuff in before we start it. The AC compressor has been removed, but the remainder of the AC system seems to be intact. If is currently outfitted with 15x7 Rally II wheels with ten-year-old 'new' tires - so it's OK to move around, but probably not safe to drive. The factory original 12-bolt rear-end is intact. The GP is equipped with rally gauges and clock and the radio is missing. We do have the PHS to document originality and will post a pic later. These cars are the big-brothers of the GTOs of that era and their performance is comparable. They're great fun to drive and when was the last time you saw one? The listing will be further updated this evening. Please check back. We've posted a handful of pictures, but we have plenty more. Please send an email if interested. We can assist with shipping via a neighbor who owns and drives a transporter between Las Vegas and Ohio fairly consistently. Example: only $1k from Vegas to Springfield, Illinois (1700 miles). Thanks for looking. Let's make YOU the new owner! If you're interested and don't quite feel like you have the skill-set to finish this project, WE CAN HELP! Email and we'll talk. We're willing to assist with shipping WORLD-WIDE. Please email. |
