Description of 1986 Pontiac Trans Am Red/gray |
1986 Pontiac Trans Am for sale. The engine was upgraded to a 350 and has about 5000 mile on it.The rest of the car is original. The underside of the car looks good, has the stock WS-6 suspension. Paint job looks beautiful however does have some nics and tics throughout and a small dent that is hard to notice at the front right fender. The rubber Areo wing rear spoileris split and should be replaced. A new fiberglass one is 500 dollars and I was quoted 1000 dollars from body shop to fix dent and install and paint new Aero wing. The speedo doesn't work.Thegear located in the speed sensor is too small. It doesn't make contact with the one in the tranny and I have no clue why.You can buy a set of gears, 5 in a pack ranging from 13 to 18 tooth for around 30 dollars.Slip on the one that is sized right.Easy job. One 10 mm bolt removes the speed sensor and you can spin in hand and watch speedo work. The car is fun to drive. Has plenty of power for simple street muscle.Istart it and drive itonce a week. The car drives and handles very good for what appears to be stock original. Other than what I mentioned, every thing on the car works perfectly! |
