Description of 1965 Pontiac GTO |
1965 GTO This is a true PHS (Pontiac Historical Services) documented 1965 GTO. Please see attached build sheet and associated documentation. It was an original 389, 4 barrel, 4 speed car with no center console, no power brakes and no power steering. It comes with re-chromedfront and rear bumpers, headlight rings, taillight bezels and center tailpiece. Original 389 engine was damaged when the block cracked due to freezing. It comes with a replacement 1976 Trans Am 400 complete engine with Edelbrock Torker 4 barrel intake and Carter AFB 4 barrel carburetor.Original "77" 389 heads are included with the car. Included in this offer is a complete 1965 three deuce setup with the correct carbs with correct tags, progressive linkage. Casting # This car is a certified 1965 GTO hardtop in need of total restoration. There are new trunk panels and new quarter panels (not installed). Floor in interior has one rusted through spot in front of passenger bucket seat. Muncie 4 speed manual transmission with Hurst shifter. GM 12 bolt rear end (for drag racing). Factory color originally Mayfair Maize (code Y). Factory color Black vinyl bucket seat interior (code 213). Car was drag raced and parked in 1974. It was last driven in 1974 as verified by the Virginia State Inspection sticker. The fender wells were cut to accommodate the headers. They were discarded and replaced with the original style inner fenders. These were cadmium plated and will never rust and can be painted black for an original look. Wheels are Rallye II with new (never driven, never been exposed to sunlight) Mickey Thompson F70-14 Red Line Tires. New reproduction door panels. New carpet. New door sills. |
