This incredible 1981 Pontiac Trans-Am S.E. is one of the most unique examples of a truly iconic car currently available in the Country. With just 30,420 miles (48,957 Kilometers) showing on the odometer, and history and track record to support it, this car is perhaps one of the nicest, un-restored and unique T/A's you can find. Produced on November 24, 1980 and shipped from the Norwood Plant on November 25th to City Pontiac and Buick in Scarborough, ONTARIO, this car is one of just 600 U.S. produced vehicles equipped with the "FOR CANADA ONLY" 5.0L Z28 motor and the Automatic Transmission. U.S. 5.0L cars carried the manual transmission only, and in much higher production numbers. The car registered to its first owner on 12/09/1980 in Ontario, and moved to the United States with that first owner where it was registered in Joplin, MO on 01/22/2002. The car was sold to the next owner in Albia, IA on 03/14/2002, and it remained with them until 06/11/2010 when it was sold to the 3rd owner in Stacy, MN. An Ohio Auto Dealer took ownership of the car at 29,104 miles on 03/01/2012, and marketed the car with the McLaughlin Trans-Am Museum in West Virginia, finding it a new owner in Maryland on 05/05/2012 at 29,110 miles. That owner had in a climate-controlled warehouse, and it was sold to me in December of 2013 at 29,117 miles. I sold the car to its last owner at 29,195 miles in June of 2016, and now I have it back, and am offering it for sale once again. The McLaughlin Museum was gracious enough to keep all the extensive research and documentation they did on the car in a folder that transfers to the new owner, and it is extensive. PHS documentation, Notarized GM Canada letters, build sheet, production numbers, and other sources of information, documentation, and validation are included with the sale of the vehicle for the next owner to maintain. The beautiful Special Edition Y84 black finish on the car is in wonderful condition, and the few small minor marks like stone chips, small scuffs, tiny blemishes, and other normal use indicators only serve as a reminder of the history on the car, and the care and maintenance it has been given overs its lifetime. Decals, emblems, and other trim all look exceptional, and nod to the low mileage on the car. The paint shows shiny, slick, and reflective all around, and we have not formally detailed the car. I am sure that once you get it home, and spend some time with your favorite cleaners and polishes going over the car, it will look even better than it does in the 250 large photos I provided. Glass is all original, and shows wonderfully with the exception of a nickel-sized chip in the inside of the windshield towards the passenger side of the car. This can probably be filled and easily repaired to be less evident, but for the sake of originality, it was left intact. Sunroof panels are in exceptional condition, and open, close, and latch without issue. Seals for the panels, along with all of the other weather stripping, moldings, and rubber on the rest of the car, are in very good original condition. Front plate bracket is still affixed to the car from when it was new, and front end shows wonderfully, with none of the droop or unevenness you see in other T/A's. All of the bright work and trim on the car looks fantastic, and is issue free. The SPECIAL EDITION wheels are in remarkable condition, and show only the faintest, if any, signs of normal use. They are wrapped in BF Goodrich RWL Radial T/A tires sized 225/70R15 that have what appears to be a date code of 27081 on them. They appear to be dry rot free, have held air pressure without issue for over 4 weeks, and I have driven on them without issue. The trunk opens to reveal the original liner in very good condition, as well as the clean and neat sunroof storage sleeves, and what appears to be the original temporary spare tire with jack components. All look remarkable. Trunk seal, like all the others, is clean, intact, and fully serviceable. Open the driver door, and the original manufacturer decals are intact and legible, sill plates are clean and nice, and there are no signs of door droop, striker plate issues, or fitment. Rare power windows go up and down with ease. Door panels are clean, and show only light signs of normal use, if any, and will probably detail up to even better condition once you have the car cleaned. Kick panels, pillar covers, and side panels are all in exceptional condition. Carpeting is clean, neat, and stain/issue free. Pedals are clean and neat, and back the mileage of the car by condition and origin. Engine turned dash and shift insert looks amazing, and has no issues. Gauge area is clean and neat, and appears to be in exceptional condition. Switches for lights, wipers, rear defrost, and the climate control functions all work as they should without issue. Factory tachometer and clock work as they should, as does the fully functional speedometer and odometer, which are in Metric due to the car's original Canadian provenance. Temp gauge, oil pressure, fuel, and battery gauges all appear to be functional and calibrated, and the 12V socket with cigar lighter works as it should. All of the heating and A/C vents move as they should, and are not broken or damaged. This is an original RADIO DELETE car, so the radio location on the dash is uncut and unused as it was when it left the factory. Center console is in extremely good condition, and holds the chrome power window switch control, as well as a functional armrest lid that opens correctly to reveal a storage cubby. Glove box is clean, has the original liner, and locks via the round key like it should. Grab strap is intact, clean, and functional. The only issue is on the dash pad itself, which has a small segment about 4" long that seems to have lifted up and separated from the 2nd portion of the dash. It could be repaired for a minimal investment, but everyone else has decided to leave it alone to preserve the cars originality. A clean, new dash mat is in place, but is not glued or taped down. The heat, air conditioning, defrost, rear defrost, and vent system all works as it should, and has no known issues at this time. Dome light works as it should, and the headliner and sun visors are all in exceptional condition. Package shelf shows wonderfully, and has no issues. The 19B black cloth interior with gold trim looks AMAZING in the car, and it is free of any rips, stains, tears, damage, seam pulls, or odors. Front seats move fore and aft like they should, and tilt forward for access to the rear jump seats which are just as nice as they front! Pop open the hood on the car, and you met by a remarkably clean and well-maintained original powertrain that is clean and show ready, but has not been professionally detailed, painted, or over-prepared like some dealerships like to do. This is just a clean, unsullied, and original bay that looks remarkable. Underneath the car you will find a chassis and pans that are free of any rustproofing, sprays, paints, and other tricks. It is solid, original, and clean metal that only shows light surface oxidation in spots from normal use and driving. It would be a shame to throw away 35 years of originality by spraying it down with chassis black when it actually looks incredibly good the way it is. All pinch welds and stampings are intact and untampered with. The body appears to be all original and issue free from front to back. The car starts easily, idles cleanly, and is ready to go on a moment's notice. It has not leaked, wept, or otherwise marked its territory during its tenure with me, and I have had it in the same spot for 10 days without any droplets coming from it. Other than a wash, and wipe down with quick shine spray, the car is in the condition I got it back in, and shows beautifully in its originality and cleanliness. Yes, you can put it on a lift and wipe down everything underneath if you want, but why? That's like taking stripes off a soldier who earned them! The last owner took it to multiple shows and events throughout Florida, and the car has amassed over 25 trophies in the past few years. Most of them are BEST IN CLASS or BEST IN SHOW, and a handful were AACA Regional Judged events as well. The trophies do NOT come with the car, but the photos are provided to show them. You get the car, a clean and clear Florida title, the PHS documents, all corresponding paperwork and items noted above, the two T-Top storage cases, and one set of keys. The car runs and drives wonderfully, and although I have only driven it 18 miles in my second tenure with it, it performed phenomenally and without incident or issue. It has been safety checked and is ready to go to its next new owner. 30,420 miles (48,957 Kilometers) IS BELIEVEDTO BE CORRECT AND ACCURATE BASED ON HISTORY, MILEAGE TRACK, AND SUBSTANTIATING DOCUMENTATION, HOWEVER IT IS SOLD ON A MILEAGE EXEMPT TITLE THAT WAS AFFECTED IN 2002 WHEN THE CAR WAS BROUGHT FROM CANADA TO THE UNITED STATES. That's about all I can tell you, but I encourage questions and addition photo requests if it helps you make a decision.

WHAT YOU SEE IS WHAT YOU GET - NO DISAPPOINTMENTS. I took photos of it from every angle I could, and I encourage you to ask questions, come see it, or arrange for an inspection PRIOR TO BUYING IT. I don't have anything to hide, and have tried to cover every part of the vehicle as best I could. It has a clean and clear title, and is ready for a new owner. The vehicle is located in our Fort Myers, FL warehouse, and is just 15 minutes away from Southwest Florida International Airport (RSW) if you want to fly in and see it. I welcome outside inspection services BEFORE YOU BUY OR BID.
