Description of 1974 Pontiac Firebird 455 |
1974 Pontiac Trans Am Real Deal Big Block 455 Numbers Matching"Barn Find"* 2V87Y4N163858 * In survivor condition, remains pretty much all original. Spent its entire life in Phoenix, Arizona area. Only to have had 2 owners with documentation paper trail from 1979. The owner came into medical issues in 1998, parking it in his garage 21 years ago. It was started about 4-5 years ago but the starter went out. Recently, The family finally came to the conclusion, it was time for someone to finally bring it back to its glory. Up for auction for sale for the first time anywhere since years ... The T/A was recusedout of the garage recently & trailer-ed to Los Angeles. It was clean up & got it looking good again. The engine was tested but as the owner mentioned the starter went bad. It does turn over and the electrical seem to work ( radio, lights, clock, wipers). I do have a video of the engine turning. It does roll/stop & tires hold air (has some brake). The conditional of the engine is unknown since it doesn'trun but it was driven into the garage. 100% complete & stock. Factory BuccaneerRed with Red CustomMorrokide interior. Appearsto be mostly all original paint as I can see. The owner mention they never had it painted since they had it. The original Big Block drive train has been verified as the original engine to the car with the vin stamped on the block. The original Q-jet carb still intact along with many other key components including the original exhaust & air conditioning. Very solid & original body, something you would expect from a desert car. Original floors, frame structure. Only small spot i see is on the passenger side bottom fender. All spoilers are in tact, driver side front chin looks like it got to close to something before and came apart. Overall, its a rare chance to own a numbers matching Base 455 cid Trans Am at No Reserve. My opinion is to to have the drive train in worthy shape of being a driver & enjoy it as a survivor or a excellent candidate for a complete restoration. Trans Am will be need to trailered & does not run. This is a complete original Bird that has dings chips for being unrestored " Barn Find".
