Description of 1966 Pontiac GTO GTO Trim Ready for Install |
1966 Pontiac LeMans - GTO Tribute: Choose Your Own Adventure with this excellent rust free body and running platform ready for reassembly to make it street legal. CURRENT STATUS This 1966 classic has always been garaged, has a clear Ohio title, only 36k on the odometer. It is running and driveable but not street legal as it needs installation of lights bumpers and shocks. Remaining: interior, paint and reassemble of this mostly part wise complete beauty. BODY & FRAME This LeMans - GTO Tribute has a total body and engine restoration done by a retired professional auto-body man that is totally rust free and primed. Restoration done with all trim removed and included new rear quarter panels and rear end panel to accommodate the proper slotted GTO tail lights. All glass is installed and looks to have new gaskets in windshield and rear window and these areas are totally rust free. This beauty additionally has a straight and sound frame. GTO PARTS + FEATURES The look of this LeMans is a dead-ringer as a GTO tribute, with all the right notes hit. It has the classic major GTO markings of hood scoop with the proper trim fitting as well as the GTO grill and slotted tail lights. Emblems? Got 'em - Hell, we even got the glove box grab bar for you and a serviceable headliner. See the attached pictures for the full collection of parts. ENGINE Behind the roar of this classic is a 421 CI Automatic Tri-Power engine (Engine code of YJ 348985) that was originally offered in 1965 & 66 Bonneville/Grand Prix, Catalina/Star Chief, and 2+2. Presently the engine has a 4-barrel carb and it starts easily, idles smoothly, and is smoke free. Engine compartment is VERY clean from engine out restoration while engine was being rebuilt. Car also has a new gas tank, fuel pump and carb tune up and new stock hood insulation kit. It has air conditioning plumbing & built in dash vents but lacks a compressor. Said to have a Posi-Traction rear end. We have video of the car starting, idle, and driving for interested parties. INTERIOR Inside this classic is an automatic aftermarket B&M pull-release shifter and we have the original center console as well. Flanking this are black front bucket seats and rear bench in fair conditions. It comes with seat belts, four armrest frames with foam cushion, and two have ashtrays, window cranks, and dome light. Trunk lid has original jacking instruction graphic. Door panels and handles (L & R inside and outside). Whichever way you go, this antique is totally rust free, primed and only needs that last bit of elbow grease to get it roaring across the finish line. We feel this beautiful antique car was meant to be a platform for a GTO clone and it already has all of the key body features of a GTO and much of the badging. MANUALS & BOOKS Included is a collection of manuals and books to assist in your reassembly.
