Description of 1977 Pontiac Trans Am Firebird |
THIS IS A NO RESERVE AUCTION1977 Pontiac Trans Am . 41,900 documented miles. Have paperwork back to first owner. This is an original black/black car with one base coat/clear coat repaint about twenty years ago.The best way I can describe it is as a fanatically maintained survivor It has all of the original body panels and there has never been any rust whatsoever . This is a completely rust free car and was rustproofed when new and there is documentation on that. It has all of the original glass and the original windshield shows zero wiper marks. This low mileage car was always used as a pleasure car and was not used in bad weather. The engine transmission and rear end have never been removed from the car. Did replace the original brakes and brake lines because of age but kept the original calipers if someone would like to rebuild them.Did take some reversible liberties with the car which I think are a great improvement. Did have a Butler Performance put together a top end kit to accomplish this. The original numbers matching engine was never removed from the car but had new Edelbrock aluminum heads and intake installed along with new ca, D.U.I distributor and R.A.R.E ram air exhaust manifolds into a 1970 exhaust system with 1977 tips. The original quadrajet was sent to Sean Murphy at S.M.I to be restored and recalibrated for the changes. Now you have the best of both worlds in a perfectly reliable and smooth running 400 that runs like a 1970. Have the original parts that was removed if someone would prefer the stock 1977 performance however. With the 3.23 rear gears it is a pleasure to drive on both backroads and interstate.
