The Pontiac Star Chief was built from 1954 to 1966. Over this period the Star Chief went through 6 different generations during production. It later served as the platform what became the Bonneville. Perhaps most recognizable for its illuminated hood ornament, the Star Chief was Pontiac's most prestigious model. The straight eight was superseded by the V8 in 1955. GR Auto Gallery is pleased to offer this 1955 Pontiac Star Chief for consideration. This Star Chief is a first year 180hp V8 paired to a Hydramatic automatic transmission. Finished in Turquoise Blue with a White Mist top it is a glowing example of the incredible styling in the 1950's. The trim really stands out against the paint and both show very well. The iconic illuminated hood ornament lights up with the headlights and shows some age but looks great. The two wide silver streaks that run the length of the hood are classic Pontiac and in excellent shape. The interior is in good and the car comes with a new carpet kit that has not been installed yet. This Star Chief has power brakes, whitewall tires, AM radio, in dash clock, and a 12volt electrical system. The car fires right and idles smooth, and cruises down the road in a grand fashion. A unique classic, everyone will see you coming by the glow of the hood ornament and the sound of the smooth running V8. This 1955 Pontiac Star Chief is a stellar example in Turquoise Blue and White Mist will be an excellent addition to someone's collection.
