Description of 1974 Pontiac Firebird Base

Selling a 1974 Firebird with an extremely rare 6-cylinder and 3-speed manual (the only one in existence that I know of). I purchased this car a year ago to restore, but the wife went crazy after she saw it in mysecret storage unit that's no longer secret. Anyway, this car is now awaiting it's next owner (hey, maybe you). I bought this car from a place in Kennewick, WA called Dan's Garage and realized it was ultra-rare and would make a nice driver. I sent away to Pontiac Historic Services for its original ordering info and learned it was sold new at Oakes Pontiac-Olds in Centralia, WA and had almost no options (it was probably a dealership "loss leader"...ordered to get people into the showroom with its low cost). It was originally Honduras Maroon with a base saddle tan interior, and had sport mirrors, Rally 2 wheels with blackwall tires, an AM radio, and floor mats...pretty basic.Dan's Garage found it in the Seattle metro area where it sat behind a garage for about 15 years waiting to be rescued. When I bought it I also bought an original rust-free driver's side fender, a good front bumper assembly from another '74 F-bird that Dan had for parts, and a nearly perfect grill and headlight assembly...all parts are included in this sale and will replace the damaged parts currently on the car. Dan said the car was wrecked by a teenager who had been given the car as his first car, then promptly wrecked it by pulling out in front of another car in front of his house without looking (damn kids!).There is no damage to the subframe, and the hood and radiator support were not tweaked in the accident. The engine doesn't currently run, but Dan said it ran when wrecked, and that the junkyard got it running with no problem. It is missing the power steering pump, but the steering box is there. A few bolts are missing from the engine, but everything else appears to be there. The only rust on the body is behind the right rear wheel (it needs replacement), a spot in the trunk right in front of the fuel filler tube(there is no other rust inside the trunk), and a small area underneath the front passenger side carpet. The trunk lid is shot and needs replacement. Everything else on the body is rock solid...no rust around the front or back windows, rocker panels, cowl, floors, rear springs and suspension, good doors (both window mechanisms work smoothly, doors shut correctly, and locks work). The front suspension is all there, and the trunk and ignition keys are working. Keep in mind that this was a running and driving car prior to the accident. The interior is shot, so I didn't include many pictures of it. I think this car would be perfect to rebody a rusty '70-74 Trans Am or Formula. It comes with a clear (non-salvage) Ohio title that will be notarized, and it rolls freely for easy loading onto a trailer. I will be glad to assist the new buyer in loading it, and I can be reached at Six 14- Seven 69-5868 (text only...I don't do voicemails). The car is sitting in a storage unit that is right off I-70 on the west side of the Columbus, OH metro area. A $250 refundable deposit is required within48 hours or I will relist it, and the rest is payable in cash when the car is picked up (note, if new buyer has the car shipped, then he can pay the remainder via a cashier's check prior to pickup...it must clear my bank before I will release the car...I will not accept Paypal for the remainder of the balance...tired of their fees). I expect payment in full within 10 daysof the end of the sale and the car to be picked up within 30 days or I will refund buyer's deposit and relist the car. I am trying to decompress my life, make the "Head-of-the War-Dept" (aka: "wife") happy, and reduce my storage fees. If you would like more photos of any portion of the car, please contact me and I'll be glad to email them to you. As you can see, I have over 1,700 perfect feedbacks and have been on here for 14 years...I am 100% honest. Good luck and happy bidding.
