Description of 1960 Pontiac Bonneville

For sale is a 1960 Pontiac Ventura Vista (4 door hardtop)This is a running, derivableproject vehicle that I started and would love to finish but circumstances will not allow me to.
My brother-in-law (and very good friend) was diagnosed with terminal cancer shortly after starting a project 1972 Chevy 4x4 and he wanted me to have the truck and finish it in his memory. I was honored and am determined to finish it as my memory of him.
That said, I don't have the money or time to finish both projects so I have to sell the Ventura to keep my promise to Bill.
I have done several things to this car already but there is still a lot to be done.
It was not running when I bought it and I replaced the carburetor, new battery, generator, fuel pump, plugs, wires, and beltsEngine runs now but the #8 cylinder is weak and sounds like it has a bad intake valve so it idles rough but still has a lot of power. My intention was to have the engine rebuilt eventually.
I installed new tires, brakes (new wheel cylinders, brake shoes, brake hoses, master cylinder, and had the power brake booster rebuilt)
Car looks to be mostly original...speedometer shows 92000+ miles which I think is probably correct. The seats and headliner are in great condition, door panels aren't bad but could use a little work, Carpet will have to be replaced.
All the lights work...even the Autronic eye (automatic headlight dimmer) Original AM radio still works. All glass is good and windows roll up and down as they should. Car has power steering and power drum brakes. Car was not equipped with AC when new.
Emergency brake doesn't work because the cables are rusty. I've only driven it a few miles but it rides and steers like new.
Car does have rust, the worst of which is the rocker panels (inner and outer), a couple of floor braces, and the passenger side front floor below the kick panel.there are some other rust spots but nothing that can't be repaired. The frame is solid with surface rust only. Rocker panels and floor braces are readily available as the parts from '59 and '60 Chevy Impalas are the same,
The man I bought this car from said he bought it from an old man in Illinois who had stored it in a pole barn for 12 years and the tires were dry cracked and flat so I'm sure that caused a lot of the rust in the lower body.
LOW opening bid and NO RESERVE!My opening bid is far less than I have invested in the car.I could part it out for more than the opening bid but these great old "Wide track" Pontiacs are getting hard to find and I hate to see any classic car scrapped...when they're gone-they're gone forever!
Clean and clear title in my name.
I live in Central Missouri and if you'd like to inspect the car, email me through the "ask seller a question" and I will be happy to give you the address and set up a time for you to inspect it.
