1959 Pontiac Starchief Vista Flat Top Low Reserve

Rare hard to find 1959 Star Chief Vista Tempest collector car with the stylish Vista flat top overhang roof, cool curved rear window, amazing large angled fins, and it resembles the Batmobile. Car is complete with no missing parts and will make a fun project for someone who can appreciate the uniqueness of this particular year and model. Not sure if the actual mileage has rolled over or not. Only 100 around miles since everything tuned up, carburetor rebuilt, additional large coolant fan installed, transmission serviced, battery, new brakes, master cylinder, brake lines, hoses, belts, and new fluids. However, that has been around three years ago and car was only driven these 100 miles total after that. Car drove amazing after work performed; however, sat for two years while top was sanded to metal and repainted with previous rust removed along the rails. Glad roof was redone; however, a few chrome pieces along top roof rails were not put back on right and are unfortunately bent.
Please be aware, that there is unfortunately a mild knock in the engine now even though the car may start and drive. It is currently at a shop to have engine removed and rebuilt if not sold. Hence,assume that a rebuild is necessary so bid accordingly. Please note, car has sat outside for several months at a couple of different repair shops for estimates, etc. since pics were taken. Unfortunately, the car cover was not kept on to my surprise and paint job has become more deteriorated. Most obvious is a large spot on the hood that paint has recently flaked off (see pic taken 10/9/23). Also, noticeable paint cracking has developed near the rear driver fin (see pic also on 10/9/23). There is only a small area in trunk that was cut out and adequately rewelded. Remaining frame and floor boards are still Ok. Upholstery, headliner, dash, interior looks original and is surprisingly still decent, but needs new carpeting and new vinyl next to rear window (have new speaker cover). Some minor bubbling and minor rust developing on lower parts of a couple of doors and bottom rails. Body is not completely straight on lines in at least a couple of different areas, and car is also not completely rust free either, so figure there will be more than what might be typical prep work necessary to body before repainting. Decent bumpers and front grill. I have chrome piece for back trunk but it got a dent from tow truck. Thehub caps all in good condition but some cracking starting on these older bias ply tires. Windows are ok, however, there is a noticeable crack on the small passenger vent window and new weather-striping is needed. This car could be a real keeper to someone who can do it justice.
