Description of 1983 Porsche 911 |
For sale is this 1983 911 SC Targa with the reliable 3.0 engine. Car has been sitting for several years. Oil change and fresh fuel and the car starts right up and idles perfectly. Have tested in driveway and car will move forward and backwards. Have not road tested. Prior to me, he car has only had two owners. What I was told about the car: Original owner was a female doctor (Cliche I know.....) who had the car from new until 1988/1989. Second owner purchased the car and used it at his summer home in Maine. Several years ago previous owner took the car to a repair facility to get brakes overhauled. The driver side door was backed into in the parking lot of the garage. Owner took the car as-is to MA and it sat for many years as the owner had many other cars and lost interest. I wish I could offer more info, ut the story ends with me buying the car and offering it to someone here who might be interested in making it shiny once again. I think this would make a really cool backdate Targa. Throw some pre-74 bumpers, enders and long hood on this car, olish the Targa bar and repaint the car in the original color and this would be a beautiful machine. This car surprisingly has very solid bones. A bit of paint bubbling in the usual places and some slight surface rust, ut no rot whatsoever. The paint is cracking, hipping, eeling and faded from sitting in the sun. The rockers and rear floors at the rear jack points are bent from the typical improper jacking methods. All too common on these cars unfortunately. Easy to fix before paint is done. The seats are dirty, ut in very good condition overall. A new carpet set and door panels along with a very thorough cleaning of the seats would do wonders for the car. The engine fires right up and sounds as brilliant as a 3.0 should. There is some leaking that appears to be coming from the oil return tubes. Easy replacement. The car only has 90,000 miles which is very low for a 911 of this vintage. With a proper paint job, eatherstripping, nterior refresh, nd mechanical tune-up, his would be a very valuable car. Great color combo and really cool original interior. Clean carfax with a straight body. Only signs of damage are the door that was dented and replaced and the dented rocker panels/rear floors from improper jacking. Please note, aine does not issue titles for vehicles this old. Car is sold with a bill of sale only. Please ask if you need additional photos. I'll continue to add photos to the dropbox link as the auction progresses. Car is for sale locally, o I reserve the right to end the auction at any time. Deposit equal to 10% of the sales price is due within 24 hours of auction ending, ayable through paypal. The balance shall be paid within 5 business days.
