Description of 1976 Porsche 912 |
This 1976 Porsche 912E has recently had a full cosmetic restoration which included a bare metal respray in theoriginalblack. All new weather striping for the truck, oors and windows, ew windshield, eadliner and front seat covers in black and white houndstooth. New BF Goodrich 195/70R14 tires were recently mounted on theoriginal 14 Fuchs wheels. We found no rust on the car during the restoration process. The paint job is good driver quality but could be cut and buffed to really make it pop.Fuel tank and system were flushed. There are a few sorting things that need to be gone. The tach does not work, or does the rear window defoger. A tint jobruined the window wires so I did not install the wiring when I replaced the rear window rubber. The carruns, rive and stops like she should. The car was bought new at Messa Porsche Audi on March 24, 976 for $11,815. I have the window sticker. The first owner had the car until 1988 and covered only 10,626 miles. The second owner bought the car in 1988 and sold it in 2003 with 246K miles on it. The car was in San Diego from 1976 until 1994 when the second owner took it to VA. He had a $2,600 paint job done in 1996 went through the engine and kept driving her until 2003. In 2003 he replaced the CV joints, ebuilt the front end and had 911 turbo tie rodinstalled. Shortly after that the car wassold to someone who drove it very little. The 4th owner who took it to MI where it sat in the garage for the last 5 years.I have all the records including the window sticker and bill of sale from 1976 until 2003 when the second owner sold it with 246K on the clock. Tool kit, wners manual, nd original radio are all in the car. The 912E for those who do not know this is a one year production which took the 911s body and mated it to the 914 engine. As a stopgap, he 912E was the single instance of "planned obselence"in Porsche history. Only 2092 were built, ut this plus year-only status and the desirable qualities have since made the 912E one of the more collectible four-cylinder Porsches. This is a very honest car that someone could fine tune and drive and enjoy. This has been a fun project but I have found anotherinterest and must sell the car to finance it. A 500.00 nonrefundable deposit it required within 24 hours made to my paypal account. A Cash or Cashiers Check is due before the vehicle moves from my garage. If shipping is required I will assist. On Oct-26-15 at 15:07:23 PDT, eller added the following information: I have attached some picture of the under carriage of the car.
