The 964 was purchased in Nashville. Tennessee and immediately transported to Austin. Texas – where it currently resides. The car was purchased in its current condition. having been wrecked by the previous owner. and sold as a project vehicle. The car is sold AS-IS. completely assembled. minus the front lower spoiler which was too damaged for reassembly. No repairs have been performed to the vehicle since the October 2014 purchase. Per the car’s service history. this 964 was a California car until mid-2010 and has zero rust. The third owner held the car the longest period (2003 – 2013). Based upon the service history. the car was stored the latter portion of this period and unused. The vehicle is being sold with a clean title; this is NOT a salvage vehicle. All existing vehicle service records and history have been scanned and posted for review – see link above. Vehicle history from 1994. 1995 and 1996 are missing. Likely. these records may be acquired through Porsche Customer Service. The existing original documents will be included with the vehicle. The car includes the original window sticker and a new Porsche Certificate of Authenticity both posted for review. Porsche produced 456 Carrera 2/4 Coupes for North America in 1994 - the lowest number. in the last year. of the 964 series. DRIVE TRAIN:This is a numbers matching car based upon the service records. The vehicle was delivered from Nashville to Roger Beasley Porsche in Austin. Texas and tested to both start and shift. However. the vehicle was not test driven due to the front-end damage. The drive train appears functionally fine. Also. the vehicle is due for a Major Service per the PPI on November 11. 2013 – see link above. SUSPENSION:The suspension appears stock. Since the vehicle has not been test driven the suspension will likely require some service. Expect to replace shocks/struts minimum. Bushings will likely be recommended. BRAKES:The brakes appear stock and will require service. Since the car has not been driven since the recent accident. expect to replace rotors. pads and brake lines. However. the vehicle’s service history shows the car’s rotors. pads and brake lines were replaced at regular intervals. WHEELS / TIRES:The wheels are stock and in good condition. The recent accident does not appear to have damaged the wheels. The tires will require replacement. Three of the tires hold air; however. the front passenger side tire has a nickel-sized puncture from the recent collision. A used tire can be mounted for transport. if needed. at the winning buyer’s expense. The car was transported from Tennessee without replacing the tire. EXTERIOR:The vehicle has been in at least one reported collision. per AutoCheck. though there’s evidence of additional minor damage on the vehicle. Also. the records show minor body and paint work completed through the years. Both doors. windshield frame and roof have been repainted. The hood and driver’s side fender replaced with used OEM Porsche parts – likely when the doors were repainted. Glass and rubber appear in good condition. Windscreen and track rubber were both replaced in 2011. The October 2014 AutoCheck Report shows an accident in 2005; however. the later October 2013 CarFax Report omits the collision – both reports are posted for review – see link above. A subsequent AutoCheck Report was run October 15. 2014 confirming the 2005 collision. The vehicle is being sold with a clean title – this is NOT a salvage vehicle. INTERIOR:The interior is in very good condition. The black front leather seats have no tears or heavy cracking. The head liner has a small tear as does the left rear seat bottom – both repairable. There is no discernible odor from smoking or pets. No discoloration of the leather upholstery. No cracks in dash. Overall. the interior shows no signs of misuse. ADDITIONAL REMARKS:This car is a perfect candidate for conversion to track use. Likely. most of the modifications needed for a track specific vehicle would be required regardless of its current condition. However. the costs associated with returning the vehicle to street use will be high and not recommended. Though the car has mostly cosmetic damage. OEM 964 parts are extremely expensive. hard to find with long lead times for new parts shipping from Germany. Following transport to Texas. the car was partially torn down. by an Authorized Porsche Dealer. for damage inspection. Images of this process are posted for review – see link above. The images show some of the previous damage from the 2005 collision. It’s safe to assume. the 2005 damage was not performed by an Authorized Porsche Dealer. Though. the repairs were competent. wire housing received over spray and the underside of the used OEM fender and hood show bleed-through (Guards Red) from the donor car. The car has since been completely reassembled. minus the lower front spoiler. and ready for transport. The impact to the front of the car hit the lower spare tire well and lower passenger side control arm – see link above. The damage is largely confined to the lower spare tire pan. lower bumper assembly and passenger wheel assembly. The hood and both fenders appear optically straight and don’t appear to require replacement. The passenger side fender was slightly pushed back into the passenger door edge – see link above. The lower passenger side sill panel. under the passenger door. will require replacement. OEM steel tire well panels. as well as a steel interior passenger side wheel well arch. are all available through Porsche in separate pieces for cut and weld repair.
