Description of 1968 Porsche 911 L |
1968 Porsche 911 L Targa Classic Short Wheel Base Porsche Brand New Targa top done by Cars inc. the best Targa guy there is, ver $3000 I have had several non completed auctions on this car. No one has even come to see it, hey are either people just that don't understand how eBay works or never respond. Please do not bid if you dont understand that you are buying a car here. I am happy to discuss, lease call me if you have any questions. Matt 503 819 9007 We recently found this car from its hiding place in Eastern Oregon. It had been sitting for many years. It was a Special order Black (95043-L) car from the factory. Over its lifetime it was painted several colors, t least they were good ones like Lime Green and Tangerine, nd it's current color Pearl. 1968 was a very unique year in Porsche history. It was the last of the SWB (Short Wheel Base) cars and was only offered as two models in the United States, he Normal and L model. The Normal was the base model with 110 hp and the L or "Lux" was the same as the European S model except with US emissions and 130hp, long with the S vented brakes. The model designation also included the S trim interior package with the elephant skin pattern dash and trim panels. This car is an excellent restoration candidate because of the low production numbers of the L and Targa models. This car has a 2.2 engine form a 71 in it according to the motor numbers. It does have a 5-speed 901 transmission. It is a solid car, ut will need everything gone through. We were able to start it up and get it running, ut did not drive the car as the motor was a bit noisy. The seats have been updated from a newer G series car. The alloy Fuchs wheels are correct for its vintage. It also has correct Weber carburetors on it. We just had the Targa top restored by Cars inc, an the Targa expert, ost nearly $3000 We have taken many detailed photos of the cars outside, nside and underneath. We do our best to represent the car as it is. We specialize in early Porsche 911's and are happy to assist with any of your needs. We have several 911's in inventory or restoration.
