We purchased this car from the original owner who. according to him. purchased the car brand new as a 1965 car. There is a clear Virginia title that states the car is a 1965. not a 1966. Research has shown that the lines between 1965 model year and 1966 model year seem to be very blurry. and depending on who you ask or what publication you look at. the serial number ranges may vary. This car. per Porsche North America was built and manufactured in September of 1965. It does carry a slate gray paint code 6601 that appears to be a 1966 import model year paint code. however evidence exists that paint codes and parts were frequently interchanged during this time frame.
