Description of 1986 Porsche 944

So a shortage of space (and funding) is all that stands between myself and another air-cooled P-car for my collection. As such, he 951 has to go.
I purchased this as a very clean, nd original, roject with a bad engine. I replaced the motor with an 89K motor in great condition. I have extensive photo documentation of this process. The vehicle is extremely original, verything works besides the pass-side power mirror. . .and the parts to fix are included. Even the stock Blaupunkt Monterey and fader wheel work. Sunroof just serviced and micro switches set as well as all latches and hardware replaced. The only alterations from stock are a K&N air filter, ew Koni sport adjustables on the front, AT delete (I have the car on collector plates, o no emissions), nd satellite grade($$$) heat shielding on the fuel lines. Other than that its bone stock. Clean title in my name, 31K, anel and hood fasteners show no signs of ever being turned or removed. Paint is fantastic with the exception of a chipped up nose and a couple of small areas that I had planned to take care of with the fogging in of the nose. Perfect dash!!!($$$) Also has a perfect sunroof bag. The factory Clifford alarm worked but I have misplaced the key, ot sure if its worth getting one made.
Highlights- New windshield (86 correct with in-glass antenna $$$ almost $800), e-upholstered seats (power drives seat), ew shift boot and linkage, ew front Konis along with pads, otors and discs. All correct parts. Rebuilt rack, ew motor mounts, C updated to current standard, lows ice cold. Valves just adjusted. Over $5000 in recent receipts not including motor or my labor, ll outside work performed by Exotic Motorwerks Scottsdale. Just had digital 4-wheel alignment. A TON of extras come with the car. New Porsche OEM Silvergaurd outdoor cover with box, ock warranty card and bag, ndoor dust cover, ull set of Porsche dealer service manuals complete with Turbo Supplement (6 volume set $$$), orsche Club "Up Fixin Der Porsche" volume covering the car. 1986 Issue of Road and Track with the car on the cover and featured pitted against the corvette. Haynes repair manual. Specialty tools include: Flywheel lock, iming roller wrenches, ricket belt tension tool, lutch alignment tool.
Extra parts: Ok I am not going to list every little piece, nly the items of interest. Everything that is included takes up a large storage bin with lid. Extra turbo unit with downpipe (no play, lack or damage), xtra rebuilt water pump with less than 1000 miles, omplete set of lifters preserved in oil. Complete cam tower unit, beautiful standard/standard crank shaft preserved and packed, xtra crossmember, otor mounts, n extra outer sunroof panel and all hardware (Acquired it for the nearly flawless inner headliner that are incredibly hard to find in even so-so condition). If shipping, he bin would need to be shipped separate from the car.
What it needs: I will preface this with the caveat that these are the things I see and would have, nd will do if my other Porsche deal falls through. Many people would not even notice most of it. The first thing on my list is the nose, had planned to do it this winter. Related to it would be the fog lights, hey are not cracked so I had planned to polish the lenses while they were out for the nose respray. I had also planned to take off the mirrors and have them painted at the same time as they have caught chips as well. Also a good time to replace the pass side mirror motor (included). I was going to have the paint cut and buffed out really good before any of that for a flawless paint match. The carpets are all great except for the cargo hatch. It has a few bare spots from age. A fitted 944 cargo mat would cover them, ut I was going to have my interior guy replace it. Needs a door strap base on the drivers door (which I ordered and have someplace, ncluded)Tires in back are a bit worn on the insides from before I got the 4-wheel alignment and had them squared up to the ground. What had stopped me from getting new ones was that the right rear wheel needs refinishing. The other three are presentable but that one looks like somebody cleaned it with something that cut the finish. It's the correct wheel though. My plan was to put it up on stands, emove the wheels, ave my tire place strip the tires, efinish the wheels with a Wurth European silver refinish kit (already purchased and included in sale). Then have the tires put on after letting the finish harden for a day or two. While it was up I was going to put Koni Sports on the back (very easy in that state). Should be aligned again after that. Also the headliner strip between the pass door top and the sunroof has pulled out of the beading around the sunroof opening. Will need about 8-9" piece of trim for sunroof opening. All of this being said, he car looks WAY better than most any you see on the road. These things will really put it in a category of its own though
Hope the description helps, vailable for inspection as well. It's a good clean honest car that I had planned on keeping but an opportunity has presented itself that is too good to pass up. I'm a PCA member and Porsche collector. I encourage inspections and would be willing to help facilitate. Can also help in working with a transport company, s I've done so a number of times. Must haveeBay history and no negative feedback to bid. $500 non-refundable depositrequired via PP within 24hrs of auction end. No room for another P-car without letting one go, t least not yet. . . ..
Unfortunately.
I feel it's VERY fairly priced at $11K(likely more). But the starting price would be an absolute steal for this vehicle and extras package.
