Description of 1968 Porsche 911 |
Vehicle sold on Bill of Sale Only!!! Ebay does not have that option so I had to select something. Hello, this listing is for an original 1968 Porsche 911 as-shown. Vin #11835576,and trans #901/05-3282632. Paint Code 6809 Tangerine. This car was found inside of a storage barn where it was tucked away since 1991. I have decided to leave it as I found it,dust and all. The previous owner started to disassemble it for restoration but never got very far,he passed away in 2008,with his wife following 3 short years later. The engine, front suspension, front seats, and some other small parts are not with the car unfortunately, and their present location is unknown. The 5-speed transmission is present. The car still has it`s original Tangerine paint. The odometer shows 70,946-miles. The ower was a college professor as evidence by the University of Illinois Circle Campus faculty parking stickers on the windows. I have the ignition and door lock keys. Sold on a Bill of Sale Only, the title was never found. Different states have different rules for getting a title,Illinois requires a bonded title and the vehicle must be in driving condition before you can apply for it. The body is straight, and actually fairly solid. There is rust on both rocker panels,a little on the bottom of the fender,a little on one door, and a hole in the battery tray. The original floor pans are all intact and solid. The doors open and close tightly,as well as the hood and trunk lid. The windshield is cracked, but the rest of the glass is good. I do not have the headlight bezels, side mirror,or front bumper. The data plate located on the front of the car is missing. The original black interior looks to be missing the front seats, clock, and radio. I believe everything else is there though. If you look past the dust,it looks to be in fairly good shape, and actually looks like it will clean up pretty well also. I have found minimal evidence of rodents inside of the car,and all of the wiring looks to be intact. I do not have or know where the engine is,but the transmission is included. The transmission is a 901/05 with a serial number of 3282632,and I believe it is original to the car. It is also missing the front suspension/brakes,and steering rack. The rear brakes are intact. The car has all (5) original chrome steel wheels with it. I am sure that I am forgetting a few things,so please look at the pictures carefully and feel free to ask ANY questions first!!! The car is located in Lombard,IL 60148 and you are welcome to come see it in person before you bid if you are able to do so. I do not want any misunderstandings about it`s condition. I feel that it is a very restorable car in it`s current condition, and worthy of someone`s attention. It is located in a residential area,so please keep that in mind for shipping. I can assist however can,and may be able to relocate it to an area easier to load onto a transport truck. I would like a $200 deposit via PayPal within 48-hours of auction end and remainder in cash or certified funds, any type of payment must clear my bank before vehicle is released. Would like it picked up within 2-weeks of cleared payment. This is a no-reserve auction and will sell to the highest bidder. I do not end listings early for cash offers, that is not fair to everyone else. Again, you are urged to ask any questions before you bid! |
