Description of 1975 Porsche 911 1975 911S sunroof coupe |
This auction is for an excellent, cosmetically preserved, mechanically restored, 1975, 911S . This Porsche features, all numbers matching, 3 owners, original paint (ice green metallic), all mechanical systems rebuilt (3000 miles ago), 113,500 miles (documented). This is a well optioned, highly original car which runs and drives like a new 1975, 911S. Vin number: 9115200196, engine number: 6450361, transmission number: 150344 I have 300 pictures of every square inch of this car and I'm happy to email a link to interested parties. Mechanical condition: The second owner parked this beautiful Porsche in his garage with a cover on it in 1992. I acquired this Porsche and became the third owner in February of 2009. I had all the mechanical systems rebuilt: engine, transmission, new Koni Shocks and struts, the brake system, suspension and sway bar bushings, ball joints, turbo tie rods, wheel bearings, shift bushing etc. I have driven it about 3000 miles during my 7 year ownership. When the engine was rebuilt I had all the recommended 2.7 upgrades performed: Carrera tensioners, pop off valve, case stud inserts, oil bypass modification, back dated 74 and earlier style exhaust, removal of air injection system and heater blower motor in engine compartment, factory trombone oil cooler, Brad Penn oil. I had the cams reground to a 911SC grind and I had the heavy cast iron pressure plate replaced with the half aluminum one (6 lbs. lighter). This is one of the strongest, most responsive and best running 2.7 CIS engines one will find. Originality and options: According to the certificate of Authenticity the engine and transmission are numbers matching. It came with and still has the following options: sports seats, sport steering wheel (fatter Carrera style), headlight washers, Fuchs alloy wheels (still in excellent original condition), Koni shocks, 5 speed, sunroof (works great). “Chrome” trim was still standard in 1975 and I think venting rear windows were as well, both of which are obviously still present. The original Blaupunkt radio and Hirschmann antenna work beautifully. This car still has its original Sigla, made in West Germany windshield. Also present are the complete tool kit, owner’s manual and warranty book (including original dealer info and the business card of the salesman), air compressor, spare tire, plastic gloves and tire bag for tire change operations, owner’s manual’s for the sunroof etc. (see pics.), and all records since it was new. This car has resided in the Seattle area (1975-1977) and in the Portland, OR area since 1977. Our mild NW climate and lack of heat and sun, and the fact that this car was always garage kept is partly what accounts for its remarkable condition. Body and Paint: According to the second owner, 30 or so years ago, the car was lightly tapped in the back. The rear bumper and deck lid and back of the back fenders were repainted. There is no evidence of the accident other than the paint on the rear deck lid has crackling and damage and has not held up as well as the rest of the car (engine heat). The rest is all original paint and it still looks good, although it has “patina”. There is excellent paint in the door jams, under the front hood etc. There is no rust present. This is a great one to preserve or repaint it to take it to a show car level. There are some scratches in a couple of places on the window frames, apparently from a break in attempt that occurred decades ago, not real noticeable unless you look close. Interior: Excellent original condition, including original no-crack dash, seats, door panels, gauges and switches, carpet, floor mats with protective coco mats on top, even the headliner is still in good shape. I had the front seats partially reupholstered to replace some worn spots on the side bolsters and the driver’s seat bottom etc. We used correct fabrics sourced from Germany. The rest of the interior is absolutely as the factory installed it in August 1974. 1975 is the last “classic year” with 69-73 features such as, non-electric outside rear view mirror (stainless steel), mono stereo, early style dash with one speaker grill, hand throttle, earlier style shift knob etc. It is my understanding that 1975 is the last “smog exempt” year in places like California. This is a 41 year old used car and it is being sold “as is” with no warranty. Please come and see the car in person, drive it, have it inspected if at all possible. International buyers are welcome. All shipping fees are the responsibility of the buyer. I would like the car paid for within 3 days and picked up within 7 days from the end of the auction. Payment is cash in person, bank wire transfer or cashier’s check. If the buyer chooses to use a cashier’s check the funds must be verified before the car can be picked up. I’m the owner, a private seller, and I have a good clean title in my name. Shipping is from Portland, OR, USA, 97217. |
