Description of 1974 Porsche 914 |
Unmolested 1974 Porsche 914 2.0L garage find in desirable Zambezi green with tan interior. Paint is original. I bought this car in Southwest TX, and trailered it up to the Washington DC area a couple years ago when I moved here for work. It was originally a California car. The motor turns over freely by hand and has excellent compression. I believe the odometer has spun over once and shows almost 102K miles. It matches up with the title that the mileage should be correct. I started restoring it recently by installing a new fuel tank. I installed brand new (NOS) fuel injectors, seals and boots. New fuel rail hoses and all vacuum hoses are new, and correct German parts. It has new points, cap, rotor, and new Bosch plug wires. All fluids will need to be done. The car has new shifter bushings. A lot of the seals /weatherstrip are good on the car, and it comes with an additional box of good used seals. Brakes/rotors look very good and I installed new German brake lines. Fuel pump needs to be installed, along with new stainless steel thru the tunnel fuel lines. Both of these items are included along with new 914 fuel lines kit with correct, fuel line reducer, grommets, FI clamps, hose, etc. The best thing about this car is that it has ZERO structural rust owing to the climate it spent it's life in. Hell hole and battery tray are original and have surface rust only and no rust through. Longs, jack points, and pan have no structural rust and little surface rust. I have been though the body of this car very carefully, and the car does have rust through on passenger door, rear trunk under taillights has a couple 1/4" rust holes, the rear fire wall at base near drivers seat has a 1/2" rust hole, and there is a rust hole at the base of the passenger sail panel (where the factory sprayed insulation holds moisture). What I am including with the sale are parts pictured, but also additional parts not pictured to minimize any body work or filler that needs to be done - new reproduction panel for rear trunk bottom, new straight and rust free passenger door, front and rear trunk lids, and correct sheet metal piece for hole under passenger sail panel. The car comes with good original front and rear valances, rocker panels, and I will include an excellent factory upper dash to replace the existing one which has cracks. Interior on this car looks very good, as do gauges and original center console. Carpet is worn but original. Car also comes with (5) original Fuchs wheels with center caps, all of which were recently powder-coated in silver. Optionally, and for additional cost I can include complete front and rear factory sway bar kit with all pieces needed to install the factory 914 sway bars on the car. COA from Porsche is included and shows this car to be numbers matching. Clear Texas title. I don't want to sell this car, but family obligations have come up which necessitate the sale. I believe I have started the auction with a very fair beginning price on a very desirable car. Non-refundable $750 deposit due within 24 hours of close of auction. Balance due within 3 business days by cash or wire transfer. Certified check will be held until my bank clears it, probably 3-4 days. |
