Description of 1986 Porsche 944 Turbo

1986 Porsche 944 turbo

PA Inspected

Many new parts and upgrades

Up for sale is my 1986 Porsche 944. I bought this car as a “get my hands dirty” hobby and it has served me well as just that. Now a house moves means reluctantly I have to sell. This car has a current PA Vehicle safety Inspection gooduntilthe end of May 2017. I have replaced many many parts (see extensive list below). I replaced anything I thought was old or perishable. I also replaced some stuff just to get the experience and some things that I just did “while I was in there”. I have also installed a number of performance upgrades.I have many many thousands “invested” in this car, its money I will never get back, but I have enjoyed the experience and its money you won’t have to spend if you are lucky enough to be the next owner.

Please read all the advert very carefully as there is important information throughout.

The Bad, My opinion on condition & other important stuff

  • The odometer works but the recorded mileage is not 100% accurate. The odometer was defective when I got the car, i have since repaired it but the truemileageisunknown.
  • There’s a few dings, stone chips etc but I am not aware of any rust or bondo. This is a 30 year old car so i suspect there may have been some re-paint in places, but I don’t think its ever had a full re-paint.
  • The rear hatch glass is scratched and has started to move from the frame, this is very common (search on 944 hatch delamination). I have repaired it withindustrialwindow weld and covered top with black tape to prevent further sun damage, but its not perfect.
  • There is an oil leak, not enough to require top-ups, but enough to leave marks on the driveway.
  • Since installation of the MAF you need to push the gas pedal during starting for the first few seconds of running and the idle is a little lumpy.I suspect this is caused by a small vacuum leak, but Ihave not confirmed so.
  • The plastic under-tray is cracked and currently removed, but I have it.

Please consider bidding on this car only if all the following apply…

  • You have read the the enitre advert, asked every question you wanted and got an answer that suits you
  • You have the money and agree to the terms
  • You understand that this is a 30 year old car without warranty and that 944 Turbos can be expensive to run and maintain.

Please don’t bid on the car if any of the following apply…

  • You don’t agree with any of the terms
  • You expect a perfect car, a like-new car or any aspect of the car to be so…. It’s not
  • You want any kind of warranty… it doesn’t have one
  • You expect it to look as good from 1-inch away as it does in the pictures…. It doesn’t
