Description of 1967 Porsche 911 |
This 1967 Porsche 911 was a project that I undertook 25 years ago after I finished my graduate studies. Everything was rebuilt and redone: floors, brakes, engine, and total stripping and repainting done by a show car specialist. This car has always been my pride and joy and I had planned to put it in special place in my home for everyone to see, and that is a reason why I did not put too many miles on the car. I would start it regularly and drive for short distances and never leave it out of site. This has been too much for me, since I have two other Porsches that I drive regularly. Since I started to plan to remove some of the small rust spots and repaint the whole car, I brought to my body man. He has suggested that I sell it before stripping it to repaint in its original color. The only reason why I it has not been painted is because I am waiting for the COA to give me the exact color. I think that my reserve is a reasonable amount, when one considers completely rusted out examples going for six figures. This car is very solid: floor and all bottom surfaces are solid with no rust. The engine purrs like new, (I installed a solid state ignition to avoid dealing with points, but it can easily be changed back) The five speed transmission has all new bushings and it has a limited slip differential. The interior is complete and the gauges all work well and look great. The fuchs wheels and tires are in excellent condition. I have the original steering wheel and the original steel bumper to be installed when it is painted. The car is very solid for a 50 year-old car. I have decided to let it go and hopefully find a good home for it. Contact me with any questions. Please note that the auction is for the car is as is. |
