Description of 1970 Porsche 911 Targa |
Offered for sale is a 1970 Porsche 911T Targa. This car was converted at some point to an impact bumper car. It was well converted. and is very nice. The engine (according to the PO. which I've known for a long time) was rebuilt about 3 years ago. by a well known Porsche Mechanic in the South Florida area (Manolo Cueto. been in the business for 40+ years. and I've known him for a few years as well). Starts right up. and runs great. Sounds strong. shifts through all the gears as it should. For some reason. when in 4th gear. and the throttle is let out. it slips out of gear. Other than that. it runs excellent. Odometer does not work. so actual mileage is unknown. Targa top could use some love as well. It's in great shape. but as it is with all these cars. there is a problem with the locking mechanism. Car was painted about 3-4 years ago. Paint looks good. but is not perfect. Paint job wasn't done right (at least not to my liking). nor was glass taken out. so there is some over spray. there's also. a part of the car. right around the driver side quarter panel that looks like what I can only describe as heavy orange peel. the driver side door has the same problems. Took a pic of it. but doesn't show too well in the pic. Probably just bad prep work. Seems to have been hit in the front passenger side at some point. as is evident The paint has cracks in the hood just around the hood badge. I haven't pulled a COA. but the serial number on the engine checks out as a 1970. PO stated it is a numbers matching car. Interior is in really good shape. and was also converted to match an impact bumper car. Looks just as good in person. as it does in pictures. Most people. don't even notice the paint defects. and simply give me a thumbs up and a nod of the head. With long hood prices in a continued upswing. this car is the perfect candidate to bring back to original. but also bear in mind that this is not a project car. It is ready to be driven right away. and you can hold n to it in it's present condition until long hoods become only a dream for us regular folks. then convert it. and have a very valuable piece of Porsche history in your garage. You can't buy a long hood in this condition for this price. I have set a very reasonable reserve. and buy it now price. Vehicle is located in Miami. FL. and is available for inspections. I am a licensed Florida dealer. and anyone buying that resides in Florida must pay sales tax upon completing the sale. People residing outside of the state of Florida will get the proper paperwork to register the car in their home state. All buyers must pay a $195 processing fee. Please send me a message. or call us for more info. I have detailed all the faults I personally found on this car. However. I assure you that it's much nicer than I have described. Even though I have found some faults with this car. I recommend a PPI from a competent mechanic. If you choose to have a PPI performed. I will only allow it on my premises. We have a lift that your mechanic is welcome to use. Buyer shall IMMEDIATELY place a $500 deposit via Paypal. Balance is to be paid within 3 business days. either in cash. cashiers check. or wire transfer. Please note that neither the the vehicle. nor the title will be released until funds have cleared. If you click buy it now. or if your offer is accepted. you have entered into a binding contract to purchase the car. Someone is going to get a great deal on a great investment.
