This Porsche is a real deal factory duck tail Carrera. This Carrera is number 15. The goal of this build was to take a already awesome and rarecar and make it better.... The car was built to "show quality" standards. This car has many rare factory options. Rare factory fiberglass targa top. This car was ordered with manual windows. Numbers matching motor and transmission validated by Porsche certificate of authenticity. 100% Rust-free car purchased in Atlanta, GA. It took over five years to have the car restored. The Porsche is a R Gruppe inspired build. 7,600 miles on the complete ground up restoration. The engine was re-builtusing RS pistons, rings, E cams, and PMO Carburetors. A stainless steel sport muffler and a stainless heat exchanger were installed. The original transmission was rebuilt. Brakes were rebuilt and rebuilt Koni shocks installed. The brakeswere upgraded to power brakes.The suspension was completely rebuilt/restored. Original polished Porsche 7 X 15 inch Fuchs wheels were installed on the front and 8 X 15 inch Fuchs on the rear. Porsche steel flares were welded to all four corners and RS front and rear air dams were installed. Rare Cibie Rally lights were mounted on the hood. The car was disassembled and taken down to bare metal for a complete repaint in the correct Sahara Desert Beige. The car was re-assembled using all new trim and rubber seals. The car is always stored in a heated garage and has never seen rain since its restoration. All the work listed was done by various professional, well known, and respected Porsche shops. The interior has leather Porsche sport seats, rare vintage Blaupunkt Berlin stereo, and rare vintage rebuilt RS speedometer (180mph)/ tachometer (7200rpm). I have extensive records and receipts. Here is a list, although not complete, of many of the improvements that have been made to the car: Engine/Exhaust: Complete engine rebuild.The car has7,600 miles on it since the engine was rebuilt. Approx. 240+ horse power. Curb weight approx. 2400 lbs.The engine rebuild included the following items: •Updated tensioner kit •New 2.8 Nikosil pistons and rings •New intake and exhaust valves •New bronze guides •Rebuilt oil pump •Resurfaced E- cam •New PMO carburetors, PMO linkage, PMO fuel block, and Fuel Pressure Gauge. The car was updated with power assisted brakes. The undercarriage is spot less and was repainted during the restoration. •Rebuilt front brake calipers painted red •New front tires- 205/50 R15 •New rear tires- 225/50 R15 Body/Exterior: Complete bodywork and paint was completed. Bodywork and paint included the following: •Steel RS flares front and rear welded to body. •Antenna hole filled. •American International Racing Porsche IROC front and rear air dams •Body was taken down to bare metal. All glass, doors, hoods and trim were removed. The body was painted in correct and rare Sahara (Desert) Beige color. The painted body was color sanded and polished. Other Notables- Original keys and pouch, mint 1974 original Oregon blue plates registered as collector car. I have over 150 pages of receipts neatly and chronologically organized in two binders. I also have over 50 pictures documenting before the car was restored, during the build, and pictures of the factory duct tail spoiler being completely restored. Also included is rare factory exterior and interior color charts. brochures, original manuals, rare original factory dealer brochures as well as magazine articles. The car comes with one large box full of documentation, pictures, dealer manuals, repair manuals, Porsche performance hand book, rare Porsche Carrera posters from 1974, and a bunch of miscellaneous documents. The car runs, drives and stops awesome. The Porsche has a excellent power to weight ratio due to the upgraded and built 2.8 liter motor built to RS specs (approx. 240+ horse power, weight approx. 2400 lbs.)
