This GT inspired classic Porsche was called "The best handling import" by Car and Driver magazine in 1984. The Porsche spirit still lives on in this wonderful car.The engine is a 2.5l with a fantastic growl at high RPM. The motor its completely stock, just the way it was engineered. Recent tune up performed and receipts available. New plugs, distributor cap and rotor, ignition coil, DME relay, oil, oil filter, fuel filter, battery, air filter and fresh coolant. All of the lights and signals work, and the pop-up headlights still look as classy as they did in 1988. Shifting through the gears provides a sold and smooth mechanical feel with no grinds or clunks. There is not much left of the paint and the dashboard is peeling, as the car spent most of it's life in the south originally sold in Florida and being registered in Texas for over 10 years. While the sun did a number on the outside, there is NO RUST on the underside, or on any of the panels! There are no cracks or chips in any of the glass. The driver's seat side bolster is torn in the usual place, but is still fully functional and electronically adjustable. The car has original Porsche carpeted floor mats with no stains or rips. Unfortunately, the radio has long since been removed by a previous owner, but in its place is a wonderful stainless muffler that produces a much better sound than any radio ever could. Like all 944's, this example is not without its problems. There is no power-steering, which adds to the overall "race car" feel. There is some sort of electrical short preventing the speedometer and sunroof from working. Easy to fix, could be a fuse and doesn't affect the drivability. Perfect start to a restoration project or for someone looking to get into the world of Porsche ownership. This is definitely an enthusiast's car.New title is in the mail, car will be sold under a bill of sale and title will be mailed when available.
