Description of 1986 Porsche 911 Targa |
1986 Porsche 911 Carrera Targa 57,000 miles -- Three Owners -- All service records back to window sticker & certificate of authenticity, various car show doodads & photos, etc, etc, the way Porsche guys do. Impeccably maintained, garage kept, nearly flawless original condition. Clean and clear title ready to go. This car is in as close to original showroom condition as 57,000 miles will allow. It is spotlessly clean, perfectly maintained and needs nothing but a new set of tires (aged out). It has never been wrecked or rusty, always garaged by dedicated Porsche enthusiasts. It runs and drives perfectly, the transmission shifts smoothly and makes no noise. The Targa top has been recovered in very nice canvas and while not original, I think it looks considerably nicer than the elephant skin. The only flaw to report is a worn spot in the carpet at the dead pedal area. It has had a Clear Bra on the hood, fenders & mirrors for some time and it is still very nice but does show slight aging, but only shows on close inspection. Original stereo is not currently present, but I'm in contact with the previous owner to see if it will turn up in their garage -- all original stereo documents are present. In the rear, every hose clamp is where your Uncle Ferdinand left it at theh factorey in 1986. In 25 years of being a German auto tech, I have seen very few in this condition. The only thing I could find to improve was to install new fog light lenses - seriously. With any part for this car at my immediate disposal, I couldn't find anything to replace. There isn't much more to say about a car this nice. I wish I could keep it but my habit is to drive the wheels off of my cars and "my" 911 will look more like a 200k mile pickup truck. I own a German auto repair shop in Portland, Oregon and I purchased this car from friends after an untimely death in the family. I have more photos than ebay will allow me to post, an email from you will get you Photobucket and Vimeo links to additional photos and a short video of the car being started cold and going onto the lift. If you have any questions please feel free to email or call, I will be as forthright as I can. I have been a German auto tech for 20 years, there isn't much I can't tell you about these cars -- although I suspect that the person looking at this ad won't need a lot of Porsche coaching. . . The car can be seen at my shop in Portland, Oregon. I will assist with shipping arrangements made by the buyer. I will deliver the car within a reasonable distance of Portland - Seattle and the Bay are easy, even SoCal - if you buy new tires you want BEFORE I drive out, the Yoks on it are 17 years old. I can also privately flatbed trailer it to you in the right circumstances. Please check my feedback, I have a long and solid history both buying and selling cars and parts on ebay. I would be happy to talk on the phone, email, etc if you would like additional information, just contact me. Please check my web site for more information about my shop: www.munichmotorworks DOT COM.
