Description of 1983 Porsche 911 SC |
I have so much to say about this car it will be hard to write it all down....so I will just give the basics. This Porsche 911 SC started off its life as a European delivery car. For those of you who don't know what this means, it is when you buy the car in the USA and Pick it up at the factory and drive it around Europe and when you are done you ship it back to the USA. The original owner loved this car right up to the moment that he sold it to the gentleman that I purchased it from. That being said I am the 3rd owner after purchasingthis car in 2013. It was in perfect mechanical condition when I bought it but it was sitting in a garage for 5-10 years. There was a centimeter of dust when I test drove it. It smelled of must and mildew, the carpet was hideously gross and damp from the water flowing through the dry rotted windshield and rear window seals. The wheels were after market BBS and who knows what the paint looked like under all that dirt and dust but I decided to ask the owner to start it up to take it for a spin. The car started almost immediately...... after we hooked the battery up to my car to jump it.This is when I started to fall in love with this 911 SC. The motor didn't pure it roared and as I pounded through the short ratio gear box I realized I wanted this car. Everything That I didn't like about the car faded away the more the owner spoke about the car, its history and the pile of paperwork he pulled out detailing all the work that had been done over the years. As I thumbed through the pile of paperworkhe started opening up to me about the details of this SC and I could tell he didn't want to sell it. Money talks I guess. I have most of the interior parts I removed except the seats. I also have the original turbo tail, front bumper, rear bumper, side panels Here is a short list of what has been done to this car: engine rebuild in 1998 3.2 done by Midwest eurosport trans rebuild at same time boxster brake kit original fuchs wheels with new tires r&r pedal assembly front rear sway bars-adjustable front and rear weltmeister sways mikuni carbs all new interior all sound proofing removed roll cage race harness carbon fiber dash, door panels rennline aluminum radio control delete, pedals, floor mats Wevo shifter new headliner working sunroof new windshield all new rubber window seals all the way around custom rs front bumper custom pre 71 rear bumper looks awesome.
