Description of 1974 Porsche 914 |
1974 Porsche 914 LE Can-Am was limited to less then 1,000 cars in which half were black/yellow and other half white/red. It was the only Special Edition 914 ever offered by Porsche. They are extremely rare with a estimated 100 or so in existence with this color combination. What makes this even rarer is the fact it has its original engine and its fuel injection still intact. Mileage is extremely low with 65,125 and is verified by receipts and registrations. This 914 Can Am is in excellent condition and is ready to be enjoyed. If you are a serious car collector or just love the Porsche classics you should consider this special car, also they have and continue to increase in value. Exterior/Body: Paint has excellent gloss but not to a concours standard as there is some minor flaws. All body panels appear to be original to this 914-and there is no indication of any accidents. All gaps are true, both doors, hood and trunks open and close as they should. All wheels are date coded to be original to this 914. All glass are original including windshield and have no chips or scratches. Original Antannae. Headlights open and close quickly. Targa roof is also in excellent condition. Interior: Seats are in excellent condition with no tares or marks any where. Original door panels are like new. Carpets also look great. Radio is Blaupunkt Frankfurt and plays good on FM but not on AM. Steering wheel is the original leather type that Can Am cars came with and is surprisingly mint. Overall the interior looks amazing. Engine/Mechanicals: I am really impressed how good this 914 runs! It has its original engine with fuel injection that starts right up and idles smoothly. There is no hesitation when excellerating. There is no smoke and no oil drips which is very rare with 914's! The transmission shifts into every gear without hesitation. A tune up and fluid changes have been done within the last year by trained Porsche mechanic. Tires are stock size and also new. On highway this 914 drives smooth and straight. The Certificate of Authenticity is included and confirms all numbers match up. I have many receipts that are included. Car originally came from California. Included in sale is the factory tool kit, jack, spare, targa roof, car cover, keys for locks and ignition, antannae key for raising, owners manual with pouch and more.Car is available to be shown here at my home. All inspections must be done prior to end of auction. I have it listed locally and reserve my right to end auction early. The Reserve is very low and will sell. I will assist in shipping to anywhere in the world. Title is in my name and in my possession. Any questions please contact me and thank you for your interest.
