Description of 1988 Porsche 944 S |
One of the ~8.8k imported into US 944S "Super" featuring DOHC 16V engine with self-adjusting timing belt tensioner. Package includes heated mirrors & washer nozzles, and two airbags! Overall in very good condition, especially for 30-year old car. Very nice looking and fun to drive small car. Hate to let it go, but life is life. Highlights: - new starter - new slave clutch cylinder - rebuilt engine (by PO)- new timing belt - re-upholstered seats (!!!) and central console (compare with sun-burned ones typically found in 944's) - aftermarket rearview mirror with Bluetooth and back-up camera. - overall - "everything works", including digital clock and climate control. Exterior - typical small imperfections/dings here and there, so new owner might want to refresh the paint to bring car to its original shine, however nothing that brings immediate attention. No rust. Has nice (but old, of course) Becker Online Pro stereo with matching backlight, antique GPS (well, if you find original navi disc :) ) and GSM cellphone (requires separate SIM card) as well as small Kenwood sub. Invested a lot of time and money to bring it to this condition. The only reason to sell - have to move soon to other state and will not have place to store it. "get it before it becomes antique and prices go up" :) PS: odometer reading is of course incorrect - previous owner reset it to zero after rebuilding engine, so i added 200k as an over-insurance measure.PPS: surprisingly reliable - never let me stranded. I had couple of months period when had to use it for daily commute and it was really fun - way beyond original expectation of "weekend project" |
