Description of 1966 Porsche 911 Black |
Second owner Porsche 911. Hate to see her go but reality has set in and I won't be able to restore it to showroom and truly don't drive it enough to hold onto the dream. I bought this 29 years ago when I started with my current company. This is a very very solid car to restore or do as I have and drive it, enjoy the great sound of a classic Porsche on a cool sunny day. Has not been in the rain or snow for 29 years. Always stored inside. No rot, very solid car. Paint is great from 10 feet and shows nice but could use new paint and honestly if just drivingdon't paint and just enjoy. Headliner has few bad spots but again has been that way for 30 years. Steering wheel wood perfect as is the dash wood. I still have the factory radio as well. Car starts, drives and handles great. Engine is non matching. Short story is I had a cam chain fail 27 years ago. I pulled OEM motor out and put in a 73 2.2 motor. I figured I would rebuild the OEM motor but never did.. We moved and 25 years ago I figure, Hey its just a engine no need to hang onto it and scrapped it. Kicking myself now but never dreamed I'd be selling the car or worried about the original engine. Motor was a rebuild long block and now has around 35K mikes. Runs solid and very reliable. I put around 1000 miles per year max on the car. Has Gas heater . Again super solid foundation to restore or just enjoy like I have for many years to come. I'd love to see it go to someone who enjoys the classics as much as I have. |
