Description of 1992 Porsche 968 Base 2 door coupe |
1992 Porsche 968 base coupe. 6 speed manual transaxle, Alpine White with Navy blue leather interior. Exterior paint appears to be original and shows no sign of a respray. Paint still looks good with no clear coat peel, and is in decent shape for a 25 year old car. Car starts up and runs well with no known mechanical issues. However as with any older vehicle, there are a few minor items that will need to be addressed by the next owner. Among them are; R12 air conditioning system needs to be re-charged, some of the exterior trim along the rocker panels are starting to separate and will need new plastic clips. The trim around the rear hatch needs to be re-painted (flat black) and re-sealed. The odometer quit working a few years ago. The speedometer and tachometer still work, but the odometer does not. The tires are nine years old (replaced at 133968 mi) and are starting to weather check. Although they show almost no signs of wear, they will need to be replaced due to age. I have the original service logbook from the previous owners, it shows the timing belt, balance belt, water pump, clutch disc, and rear flywheel seal replaced at 121950 miles. I also have the complete shop manual on CD that I will include with the sale. I have not used the car much since I bought it from a friend approximately 14 years ago, so it makes no sense to hang on to the car any longer. On Aug-28-17 at 22:07:37 PDT, seller added the following information: There was a question regarding the gap shown in the photo of the RH rear quarter panel to bumper, and whether the vehicle was hit. The gap shown in the photo is the black plastic piping that installs along the upper edge of the rear bumper (between the joint of the bumper to rear quarter panels and rear center panel). The piping is one continuous plastic trim piece that starts behind one rear wheel and runs along the upper edge of the bumper all the way to the opposite end at the other rear wheel. At the two sharp turns (just forward of the L/H and R/H tail lights) the round part of the piping has torn from the flat part. (The cross sectional view of the piping resembles a "P" shape). The trim piping is not expensive to replace (if you do it yourself), but will require removal and re-installation of the rear bumper. |
