RSR Tribute / Outlaw 2016 Ground up Build & Restoration

The driving experience in this car is nothing short of fun and exciting. It puts a smile on my face every time I get in! I am a 17 year member of the Porsche Club of America and have owned 16 Porsches over the past 18 years. This was my first vintage Porsche purchase. As you may know the values of these cars keep going up and up and up. When you think they have hit a ceiling a new record is met. A similar Tribute/Hot Rod was just sold for $110,000 on BAT this month and I believe this is a much better build. Having a 3.6L powerplant behind you is nothing short of thrilling! It sounds amazing and delivers the power missing from most vintage 911's.

You are looking at a turn key RSR Tribute/Outlaw, It starts and fires up effortlessly. The engine pulls very strong and hard through the gears. I have found that if I take it out for a drive it does drop small amounts of oil so there is seepage coming from the case. However this is to be expected from any vintage 911. P/O did not hook up the ebrake cables. Because of the headers there is no heat exchange parts under the engine. It does have the blower that is functional. I am 100% open to a PPI. I have a Porsche mechanic that works on my 4 other Porsche vehicles that I trust. I just purchased a few more cars and need some room in my garage. This car is the best of everything. It has the vintage look of a 73 Date back, the stance and presence of an RSR. The performance of a much more modern Porsche with the power rich 3.6 Liter 946 engine, not to mention the efficiency of the Fuel injection. The suspension, braking, Transmission everything has been gone over. This is a car I can hand you the keys and you canimmediatelytake it to the track or on a Rally with the PCA. Mechanically and visually it is turn key.

There are still little projects if you want to bond with the car making it your own. I would send out the instrument cluster to be recondition and rebuilt. I am not sure how accurate they are and they do show some pitting on the bezels. But that is also considered patina that some people want. You could add a carpet kit to the front trunk although not necessary. Overall this is a driveable car that is ready to take on a road trip, canyon carving or a new toy to show off at your local cars and coffee. It is an incredible build that cost far more to complete than what it will end up selling for. I am the 2nd owner since the restoration but I am more than happy to answer questions. I expect the car to be shipped and would only recommend enclosed transport.

About the RSR Tribute

This 1976 Porsche 911 has covered just 500 miles since completion of a build that was designed to deliver modern power with period aesthetics. Starting with a rust-free body, the seller added Getty Design fiberglass front/rear bumpers, front fenders, hood, andducktail, as well as steel 930 rear quarter panels. The updated shell was then treated to a bare metal repaintin white with blackgraphics. The 964-sourced3.6 liter flat-six is paired with an LSD-equipped915 5-speed transmission rebuilt by Tru6 of Watertown, Massachusetts. Suspension modifications include Bilstein shocks, Sway-A-Way rear spring plates, and Tarett Engineering sway bars and drop links. Thewheels were refurbished by Marc Zurlinden and 930 brakes are fitted all around. The interior featuresGTS Classics seats, a roll bar, reproduction race harnesses, WEVO shifter, new headliner, and RSR carpets. This modified911 is reportedly running well with no current issues. It comes with a clean Colorado Title.

Preparation for the bare metal, glass-outrepaint is highlighted in a series of photos in the gallery below. The rust-free body shell was sourced from Florida and was modified with Getty Design fiberglass front/rear bumpers, front fenders, hood, and ducktail. Steel 930 Turbo rear quarters were added, and new body seals and weather stripping were used throughout. Panel fit is good with a slight gap showing betweengasket and front bumper on the passenger side.

It has been driven the approximately 500 miles since completion of this build. You will find the paint to be flawless and in show condition. This is a sunroof delete car, and exterior updates include a new windshield, new light lenses, and yellow H4 headlights. The period aesthetic is continued with the black Porsche graphics along with Hella and Cibie fogs controlled by the factory dash-mounted fog light knob.

15×10″ Minilites are fitted at the rear and 15×8″ Fuchs are mounted up front. All are shodwith Michelin TB tires and were recently refurbished by Marc Zurlinden.

Updated cabinfittings include a new headliner, perlon RSR carpet kit, and WEVO shifter. The dash top, binnacle, radio-delete fascia, knee pads, and pillars have all been fully covered in leather as shown in the photo gallery. Adding to the purposeful look are a new pedal set and Rennline passenger side perforatedfloorboard, as well as the absence of heat or A/C. The 94k indicated miles are not believed accurate.

The GTS Classics seats have perforated basket weave centers and offer plenty of lateral support. The rear seats have been deleted.Reproduction Repa 4-point harnesses and a roll bar have been added, and factory safety belts also remain installed.

The 3.6 liter flat-sixwas sourced from a 964 and resides in a very clean engine bay. Awidemouth Carrera oil cooler from Elephant Racing is also fitted. The seller notes the engine is running well, with no current mechanical issues.

The Porsche 915 transmission is equipped with a limited slip differential and was rebuilt by Tru6 of Watertown, Massachusetts at a cost of $7,400. A receipt for this work and a series of build photos are provide in the gallery below.

Suspension updates are evident including the addition of Porsche 930 brakes all around, Bilstein shocks, an M&K GT3-style exhaust, and custom 1.75″ headers. The undercarriage is clean and dry, with no fluid leaks noted. No accident damage or repairs are visible, and light surface corrosion is limited to the pans and a few bolts/brackets.

Sway-A-Way adjustable rear spring plates and Tarett Engineering 22mm front/rear sway bars and drop links have been added.
