Description of 1969 Porsche 912 |
This 1969 Porsche 912 is awell-maintained daily driver, reportedly sold new in California and acquired by me 3+ years ago. It is finished in factory-correct Slate Gray over Black, and powered by a numbers-matching 1600cc flat-four paired to a dogleg 5-speed manual transmission. Alterations include a repaint, 14″ Fuchs alloy wheels, and Weber carburetors (also includesoriginal Solex carburetors). Several improvements have been made, including a new front floor pan and rewiring. Additionally, air-cooled Porsche specialists Eason Auto Works in Oakland, California has performed significant engine work including new gaskets and seals, replacing several mechanical items, and more as detailed below. This 912 comes with a Porsche Certificate of Authenticity, all three years of service records, and a clean California title. There was rust on the front floor pan, so a new one was installed by Classic Autobody in North Berkeley with a receipt included in the service file. Rewiring of lights and signals was performed by Select Electric. The driver-quality Slate Gray repaint was done years ago and is showing age with cracking present on the hood as highlighted in the photo gallery. Several body panels are slightly misaligned, the rubber body panel seals have been painted over, and there are a few paint chips present. Recently, new headlamps, a new windshield seal, and a new reproduction side view mirror were installed (original side mirror is also included). The car rides on factory suspension with replaced control arms, and new brake hoses have been fitted. The 14″ Fuchs alloy wheels show some marks in the photo gallery. The front trunk contains a spare fifth Fuchs wheel. A new battery, clamp, and ground strap were recently fitted. The horn assembly was also fixed, and the speedometer was rebuilt. The radio and clock are currently inoperable, and the odometer shows approx 63K miles with total actual mileage unknown.Original door pockets are intact, partially warped. The dash has a cover and the left under-dash rail is damaged (as seen in the photo). This 912 maintains original leather upholstery, which appears to be tear-free and shows wear commensurate with age, as seen in the photos. A new headliner has been fitted, along with new sun visors, and the dashboard wears a cap as shown in the picture below. Recent mechanical servicing performed by Eason Auto Works consists of the following:
All receipts for all work performed while I've owned the car are available. This is a 48 year old car, not a show car, but a fantastic and fun daily driver for someone who enjoys a stick shift on an open (or winding) road! Shipping is the buyer's responsibility but I will assist in preparing the car for pick-up and delivery. |
