Description of 1968 Porsche 912 912 COUPE |
**PLEASE SCROLL DOWN THE AD LISTING PAGE TO VIEW A COMPLETE SET OF DETAILED PHOTOS OF THE VEHICLE**Offered for sale, from KURT TANNER MOTORCARS, is this really solid, straight, honest 912 Coupe. This Porsche was just purchased from it's long term Northern California owner who treated the car, during his ownership, to an engine and suspension rebuild by a Bay area specialist. The car runs and drives well, and appears just about completely solid and rustfree. It can be enjoyed right away with it's current older cosmetics as a daily driver. The body on this car appears very good with nice shutlines. The car's underside looks fantastically original and solid, with only some evidence of repair of a front battery pan replacement, but a professional job. The car's red paintwork is older, showing some age in the form of some checking on the roof, a few dings and touched-in chips, and some thinning areas. But it's perfectly fine for an attractive driver. The original A-post tag indicates the original factory color to be Tangerine Orange...The car's glass appears in good shapeThe interior trim is also older with some faded carpets, incorrect materials, older original headliner. But again, perfectly usable for a driver in it's current state. The previous owner stated that he had the suspension and engine rebuilt by a specialist, and it shows. The car starts easily on the key, revs well on newer Weber carbs with no smoke, and goes happily down the road on nice tires. Suspension is taught and well-handling. The 5-speed gearbox is slick-shifting with nice syncros. The brake pedal seems a little low, but most likely cured with a brake bleed. The previous owner stated the rebuilt engine is from an earlier 1966 year model, and upon inspection is correct.Overall, a nice driving and extremely solid 912 Coupe, with a good original color scheme. This car can be enjoyed currently as is, with an eye towards easy cosmetic improvements a bit further down the road.VIDEO LINK OF CAR DRIVING BELOW:https://youtu.be/wGE1G_RmThY Please look at all pictures and call or email with any questions.
