Description of 1976 Porsche 912 |
**NO RESERVE** 1976 Porsche 912E in (appears to be) Oak Green Metallic.Purchased in New Orleans in 2014, this, mostly rust free (rear shelf damage pictured) 912 was stripped down and prepped to be a vintage racing rally/race car. The previous owner, fabricated and installed the roll cage, fabricated and fitted the new engine mounts to receive a Subaru EJ20 with a Porsche 915 trans via adapter plate. The project was put on hold because of a new baby, and I carelessly agreed to take on its completion. Sadly, I am no longer in a position to complete this build, and am looking to pass it on to more skilled, ambitious hands. These Subaru Porsches are what they are: Loved, hated, and enjoyed by all that drive them. Good:-The car is shockingly free of rust. The pictures show, as best they can, the solidness of the panels, with exception to the rear shelf. All sills and drip rails are solid. Some surface rust, but all and all, a preserved 912.-Doors and fenders are all in great shape, rust free. All glass included (windscreen and rear glass not pictured.)-Drivetrain fitted and all parts required for the swap seem to be all present.-Engine was pulled from a WRX and comes with a turbo kit and parts. Engine has compression.-Porsche 915 Trans, bonus and preferred for this type of engine swap-New wheels and tires, clutch, starter, brake lines, dash, and fiber roof panel (we'll get to that in a second)-Clear Louisiana Title Bad:-Much of the things not present were tossed out like the seats and original motor. Please don't get me started on that!! Many of the main parts were pictured with another few boxes with bolts, bits and bobs.-This is a project. Please do not attempt this as a first timer. PLEASE! Ugly:-There is no roof. A replacement fiber roof (not pictured, but new in box) is the plan for replacing the roof. There are no words for why this was done, but I know it can be made right. The car is listed without reserve. I will assist, as best I can to prepare the vehicle for shipping, but it is the buyers responsibility. The car is currently in pieces. Please email me if you have any other questions, or require additional pictures. Enjoy. |
