Description of 1963 Porsche 356 |
This is the the Porsche 356 Outlaw that was displayed at the Toyo Treadpass booth at the 2017 SEMA show. This car was part of the battle of the builders, and made it to the top 40. It has also been featured on the Velocity channel SEMA Coverage. The vehicle got glowing reviews, and has just hit the cover of Ultimate Porsche Magazine this month. This vehicle has been redone inside and out. We started with a 1963 Porsche 356 that resided in Oregon, and California most of its life. The first piece of the agenda to tackle was stripping the car to bare metal, the car was sandblasted, and came out of it better than most. Every panel that needed to be replaced, was replaced, and is virtually brand new sheet metal. Every inch of this body was done to perfection, by someone who truly enjoys doing it. The body was slightly altered to give the outlaw look. the body adjustments are mainly visible to those "in the know". The floors are brand new, and the color is an Audi Nardo Grey, with a lighter grey stripe on one side, and a 550 Spyder style mirror on the drivers side. Interior. Virtually every piece of the interior has been re-designed. Starting with the instrument cluster. The cluster was re-located to the center of the dash, surrounded by 6 Vintage Heuer period correct stopwatches. 3 on each side. The seats are one off custom built specifically for this car. There are a total of 6 hydes of Factory Porsche Leather used throughout the car. A custom rear seat luggage set up, which incorporates the vehicles Audio Set up. The Audio is comprised of all Vintage new stock McIntosh components. The hand brake is a one off, and was inspired by the Porsche 550 Spyder hand brake, which took months to make. The Shifter is a custom piece that costs many thousands and many hours to make, which was designed by Dave Mason. These items are one of the many highlights of the interior. It also has a custom Budnik Outlaw one off steering wheel, with the Porsche leather incorporated on the back. EngineThe original engine came with 90hp on a good day. The current engine, which is a custom built type 4 Engine, currently makes 180 HP. It is much much quicker than the original. This car really moves, if you want it to. Every piece of the engine has been either chrome plated, polished, or coppered, or both. It was built by FAT performance, out of Orange, CA, a very well known and respected aircooled engine shop in the Drag community. The attention to detail is really something. It sports 48 IDA Weber carbs, and a custom A1 Fully polished headers, and exhaust, built specifically for and around this car. Bonnet / HoodWe installed a custom center Fuel Filler with a CAN-AM style fuel door, built by CraftyB, which was then taken apart, chromed, coppered and engraved by some of Californias Best. The entire Bonnet is wrapped in the same Porsche leather, including the underside of the hood. It also has two built in holsters for your favorite drinks. The gas tank looks like a suitcase, and fits in the bonnet very well. Wheels / TiresThe wheels were custom made by 1552, and they are the Magnus Walker Outlaw edition. The second set to ever be on a 356. The first set was installed on one of my other 356s.They are two tone, powdercoated for longevity. The tires are TOYO R888R, which are phenomenal for this application. The car has been to a few car shows, and has placed Best of Show in every one of them. The car has under 300 miles. It does get driven, and can be driven, with no issues. This is a truly custom Couture style outlaw. You will not find another like it. There is really nothing to compare it to. It has been featured on speedhunters, The Hoonigan channel, and is currently on the newsstands, as mentioned earlier. Also two more magazine features coming out very soon. I encourage you to watch the Hoonigan special, as it has very good video. BTW. There is a matching 68 912, which was built alongside this vehicle, which is also available, should you want them both. Please call John @ 213-256-9675 for any questions or concerns. You can also visit @Slang500 instagram account, to see many more pictures of the car, and also the build. The price includes door to door shipping anywhere in the world. Happy Bidding! |
